Qualifications:

Position Description:

The Vehicle Dynamics Tuning Engineer plays an integral part in the vehicle dynamics development by providing feedback to programs based on test results. Besides driving and testing vehicles, close communication with simulation engineers is important to help guide the program towards the requirements.

Experience from proving grounds and tuning vehicles based on subjective evaluation is required. Hence, deep understanding of suspension and chassis architecture and components, and their effect on ride and handling is important.

Job Description:

• As a Electronics Resident Engineer, you will provide critical on-site hardware and electronics support at General Motors Tech Centers and Assembly Plants, particularly during launch phases.
• You will act as the vital supporting link between the Client Team and the GM Team to help design, develop, and successfully launch products.
• In this role, you will apply hands-on electronics expertise to test, diagnose, and validate automotive embedded systems while delivering high-quality service and representing the company at the customer site.

Requirements / Hardware & Electronics Engineering Contributions:

• Schematics & Circuitry: Read, interpret, and analyze complex electrical schematics to understand electronics design basics and trace circuits for diagnostic purposes.

• System Test Engineer
• The System Test Engineer ensures the elicitation of the requirements/KPI’s, the test coverage of the System and System Architecture Requirements and quality of test cases along with the Test Plans.
• He/she specifies the test cases following the test strategies.

• He/she executes the tests.

• The Design & Release Engineer is responsible for the development of an assigned component within Client Infotainment Group. 
• The DRE is the representant of his assigned component internally and externally, and is responsible for the good tenue of the planning and project constraints.
• Response to Change Request during Development phase and Issue Response & Tracking during Production phase are important drivers that rythm the DRE's planning.
• The Design & Release Engineer is also responsible for the management of Tier 1 suppliers in charge of the component design.

Basic Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, Master's degree preferred.  
• Minimum 5 years of experience in BSW SoC design, with a focus on automotive applications.   
• Proven experience in embedded systems development with a focus on SOC integration and BSP development.  
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and familiarity with embedded software development tools and methodologies.  
• Strong understanding of SOC architectures, peripheral interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C), and device drivers.  
• Experience with embedded operating systems such as Linux, FreeRTOS, or RTOS.  
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), build systems (e.g., Make, CMake), and debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, GDB).  
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.  
• Effective communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  
• Experience with hands-on HW bring up and HW debug with lab instruments such as power supply, multi-meter, oscilloscope etc.

Preferred Qualifications  

• Experience with SOC architecture from vendors such as Renesas, TI, Intel, or Qualcomm.  
• Familiarity with security protocols and techniques for securing embedded systems.  
• Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines for embedded software development.  
• Experience with Autonomous Driving and IVI software architecture.

Design material flow processes and storage systems to establish efficient material delivery to the factory and sub-assembly lines for electric vehicle automotive components. Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging, Logistics Operations, EH&S during launch to develop Material Flow processes and systems. Identify and implement continuous improvement projects. Complete dock utilization analysis, support dynamic simulations, maintain PFEP data, calculate storage space requirements and design material delivery routes. Input and report out KPI data on a weekly basis. Develop business cases as needed for Material Flow installations. Contribute to internal document development, standards, best practices, lessons learned and training modules. Develop requirements for Material Flow equipment: fork trucks, tuggers, dollies, and lineside display. Develop station layouts for lineside operations, offline SPD cells, kitting, and repack activities. General Optimization of floor space, logistics, delivery, and display equipment in the assembly plant. Prioritize Material Flow Layout Engineer activities. Coordinate Layout Engineer and Equipment design staff activities. Experience with installation of material handling equipment such as Rack indexers, turn tables, over/under shuttles, and conveyors. New launch projects on specific production lines focusing on material flow from warehouse to the border of line location. Set up of new part numbers and engineering changes. Creation of station designs from scratch, in base of production rate and according assembly processes.
