Verify and Iterate

• Verify the end-to-end result yourself. Confirm the system does what the requirements say, and that the requirements were right.
• Drive adoption of what you ship. Documentation, enablement, and usage monitoring are part of the job.

YOU HAVE

• 10+ years building production web applications across the full stack. The years are the floor, not the bar. What matters is whether you have actually done this: owned a problem end-to-end, written the spec, built the thing, coordinated the work, and shipped it without someone else holding the thread.
• Demonstrated experience gathering requirements directly. You have interviewed users, customers, and partner teams, and turned ambiguous intent into specs that engineers and agents can build against.
• Demonstrated experience owning both functional and non-functional requirements. You have defined what a system must do and held the line on how well it must do it.
• A track record of owning a domain or initiative without close supervision. You have navigated ambiguity, made judgment calls, and been accountable for the outcome.

About the Role

Verkada is seeking a Global Solutions Engineer with expert experience in Cloud Security, IoT Systems, Networking, Linux systems, Security Surveillance and Access Control. Role Description

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable backend systems that power Dropbox’s Commerce Platform, including CRM, CPQ, Billing, provisioning, and related data workflows.
• Define and drive technical strategy for complex, highly customized systems, balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform scalability and reliability.
• Lead efforts to simplify legacy architectures, reduce system fragmentation, and build generalized, product-agnostic solutions.
• Own end-to-end reliability of revenue-critical systems, including validation, rollout safety, monitoring, and incident response.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Finance, and GTM teams to translate business requirements into durable technical solutions.
• Identify and execute on opportunities to improve data integrity, system observability, and operational efficiency across the platform.
• Take ownership of large, ambiguous problem spaces and drive them from definition through execution, influencing both technical and business stakeholders.

• 12+ years of professional software development experience.
