Teads is organizing a DevOps Summer School where you will learn the core principles of modern infrastructure, automation, and cloud-native development while building and deploying a production-ready system from scratch. Throughout the program, we will guide you through designing system architecture, setting up development and deployment environments, and implementing CI/CD pipelines.

You will start by creating a simple service and running it locally, then gradually evolve it by containerizing the application using Docker and orchestrating it with tools like Kubernetes. You will learn how to connect services to databases and external APIs, implement logging and monitoring, and collect meaningful metrics to ensure system reliability and performance.

A strong focus will be placed on automation and infrastructure as code. You will gain hands-on experience with tools used in the industry to provision and manage infrastructure, as well as to automate testing, integration, and deployment processes. You will also explore concepts like scalability, fault tolerance, and observability.

By the end of the summer school, you will deploy your application to a public cloud environment and understand how to maintain and operate it in a real-world setting.

The summer school will consist of engaging talks delivered by our expert engineers, each followed by hands-on workshops where you will apply your knowledge in practice. It's a great opportunity if you want to understand what it means to work in DevOps and how modern systems are built, deployed, and maintained in the industry.

The whole event will happen on site in our new offices on Dunajska cesta 5 and will be completely FREE of charge (including lunch, coffee, snacks and all activities). We embrace Reliability Engineering, toil is our enemy while automation at scale is our main ally.

As part of the Runtime Platform team, you’ll be at the heart of our distributed systems, architecting the backbone of our container orchestration and real-time data streaming. You’ll focus on hardening our Kubernetes clusters and Kafka infrastructure to ensure our microservices dance in harmony. What will you do?

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, your mission will be:

• Improve existing ML library & tools allowing to explore and analyze more and more data and provide accurate feedback on the Teads activities.
• Create, design, develop, test and monitor your code in production autonomously and reliably.
• Design, develop, and implement ML models and algorithms with a focus on robustness, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with data scientists to identify and apply effective machine learning techniques and strategies for improved system performance.

• Collaborate with variety of teams for production cases to develop services from design to production.

Teads is organizing a Software Engineering Summer School where you will learn all areas of backend and frontend development and build a robust system from scratch. We will go through the process of planning the architecture of the system and setting up the development environment, followed by creating a service and running it locally. We will then connect the service to a NoSQL database and an external API, add logging and instrument the application with useful metrics. You will choose what functionality your application will have and implement the necessary business logic. You will write the backend part in Java with the help of the Spring Boot framework, which helps you quickly bootstrap production ready applications.

After that, we will move to the frontend part, where you will use Angular to implement the user interface. At the end you will learn how to build and dockerize your application and how to deploy it to a public cloud. The summer school will consist of many useful talks given by our expert engineers, each of which will be followed by a hands-on workshop, where you will put the new knowledge in practice. It’s a great opportunity if you want a better understanding of what it means to be a full stack engineer and how we do it in the industry. 

The whole event will happen on site in our new offices on Dunajska cesta 5 and will be completely FREE of charge (including lunch, coffee, snacks and all activities). But we do expect your full commitment during the one week of the summer school – remember: if you apply, get accepted and don’t show up, you are taking away a seat from someone else who really wanted to attend!

Who will benefit most from attending the Software Engineering Summer School?

Eager individuals who know how to write code (most of the summer school is very hands-on), and have some knowledge on databases and software development in general. For example:

How much programming / software development experience do you need?

Good rule of thumb is that if you ever wrote an application with a simple backend and frontend, if you did any studies at a computer science university programme or work as a software engineer, then you’re good.

What is the plan?

A week of interesting and relevant talks on different backend and frontend development topics given by our highly skilled engineers, followed by hands-on workshops where you will implement the presented concepts and end up with a functional application running in production.
