Role description 

As an IT Datacenter Technician Intern, you will learn to play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure within our data centers. This includes working hands-on with modern GPU cloud cluster technologies. Your responsibilities will involve learning how to support data center IT infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, perform physical hardware repairs, and ensure the smooth operation of critical systems.

This is a shift-based role and provides an opportunity to become a full-time Nebius L1 IT Technician.

Skills you will learn: 

• Diagnosing and resolving issues related to IT hardware, while ensuring continuous support of the data center’s IT infrastructure.
• Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external contractors to address technical and operational challenges.
• Installing, upgrading, and dismantling hardware based on operational requests and requirements.
• Managing and maintaining the connectivity of fiber optic cables and patch cords.
• Planning, executing, and monitoring regular IT tasks to maintain and improve infrastructure operations.
• Processing Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) in compliance with established manuals and procedures.
• Developing clear and comprehensive documentation and manuals for hardware configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with other teams.

We expect you to have: 

• Enrollment in or recent graduation from an accredited college, university, or technical school with a focus on Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Be at least 18 years old by the internship start date.
• Be eligible to work in the country where the position is located, without requiring sponsorship.
• A demonstrated strong interest and foundational knowledge in IT data center operations, networking, hardware, and software.
• The ability to comply with all safety, security, and confidentiality policies of the IT data center.
• Availability to commit to the full internship duration (minimum of 8 weeks, full-time).

The role 

We are seeking a reliable, tech-savvy, and customer-focused Tier 1 Help Desk Technician to join our IT team. This position is responsible for providing first-level support for end-user IT issues, including hardware, software, and basic networking problems. The role is fully on-site (5 days a week) and requires a hands-on approach to assisting employees with day-to-day technical issues and setups.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance in person, messaging, ticket, or email.
• Log, categorize, and prioritize all incoming support requests in the IT ticketing system.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, resolve and document a broad scope of hardware, software, and peripheral issues (e.g., printers, monitors, network).
• Assist with user account creation, password resets, and access permissions in Active Directory and other enterprise systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktop/laptop computers, mobile devices, and software applications.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Tier 2/3 support in a timely manner.
• Maintain and update asset inventory records.
• Facilitate and support seamless onboarding and off-boarding processes, including workstation setup, re-imaging and return.
• Follow standard procedures for proper escalation and ticket closure.
• Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely and clear communication with end users.
• Extensively document actions taken and suggested resolutions in detail.
• Actively contribute to IT knowledge base.
• Assist with regular IT maintenance tasks, such as software updates and hardware checks (for both user endpoints and office infrastructure).
• Ensure compliance with company IT policies and procedures.

We expect you to have:

• An IT customer support background with 4+ years of service desk technical experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills in AV systems, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 (including Office 365), networking, software and MDM administration, along with experience managing enterprise applications such as Slack, Jira, Zoom, and similar tools.
• Technical documentation and knowledge base (KB) writing skills.
• Hands-on experience with Jira or comparable service management systems.
• A customer-first mindset, prioritizing employee satisfaction and support quality.
• The ability to independently resolve technical issues across the support portfolio.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to effectively prioritize and manage a busy workload.
• A collaborative spirit, working seamlessly with cross-functional team members to meet employee needs and achieve company goals.

About the Role:

The IT Specialist is responsible for analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing end user issues pertaining to their daily job duties. Managing and resolving service request tickets on a daily basis. This individual is responsible for providing high quality technical assistance and support related to the company’s computer systems, software, and hardware. This position is directly responsible for interaction with end users and their machines on a daily basis.

What you’ll do:

• Assisting employees (end users) with the MacOS desktop systems
• Strong knowledge of Windows / macOS environments
• Initial IT orientation of new employees during their “sign-in” process
• Providing computer support services for software and hardware within established company standards and guidelines
• Testing of computers to ensure all computer systems are functioning properly
• Identifying and solving any problems that affect computer operating systems
• Communicating effectively with the individual end users on issues that pertain to their machines
• Maintenance and upgrading of computer systems , including offering recommendations on upgrades on an as-needed basis
• Assistance in implementing IT related company initiatives as provided by IT leadership
• Maintaining computer peripheral devices such as printers and scanners and solving the related issues pertaining to these devices
• Responsible for delivering, tracking, and recording the assignments of hardware to new employees
• Training end users and orienting them on how to use the MacOS hardware and software on an entry level basis
• Responsible for understanding the network topology to assist the Network Technician and Systems Administrator during outages
• Deep understanding of SaaS services and their operations 
• Experience and understanding of SSO, SAML, OpenID Connect Protocols
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees

What you’ll need:

• Professional certification macOS Support Essentials or proven macOS experience 
• SaaS Systems Administration (MDM, GSuite, Slack, SalesForce, Zoom, ..., etc)
• Network Administration multiple floors: WiFi, LAN, Fortigate Firewall, ...
• Well organized IT Assets manager 
• Another Professional certification (e.g. CCNS, CISSP, MCSE) is an advantage
• Customer service background or experience required
• Experience working in a fast-paced team environment is strongly recommended
• 3+years experience in a Help Desk or Support role required
• High level English
