The App Framework team is building something foundational: an Agentic App Builder platform on top of ZMP that enables teams across Zeta to develop, deploy, and operationalize applications that integrate with ZMP’s core capabilities – identity, intelligence, activation, and measurement. As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you’ll shape the architecture of this platform from the ground up. You’ll partner with product owners and engineering teams across the organization to understand what application builders need, design the backend services and APIs that make it possible, and build the frontend experiences that make it intuitive. You’ll own what you build end-to-end – from requirements through production operations – with a focus on architectural simplicity, developer experience, and operational excellence.

We develop using AI-assisted workflows (Cursor, Claude Code) and ship through continuous delivery. This is a rare opportunity to build a platform that fundamentally changes how applications are created at an enterprise scale.

What you’ll Do:

• Design and build the Agentic App Builder platform – the services, APIs, and developer tools that enable teams to create, deploy, and manage applications on top of ZMP fast and at scale.
• Build intuitive frontend experiences in React/TypeScript that make the platform accessible and productive for application builders.
• Ship continuously and confidently through CI/CD, with observability, resilience and reliability built in from the start.
• Embed AI/LLM capabilities into the platform to enable agentic application development and intelligent automation.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as a core part of your workflow to accelerate delivery while maintaining high quality.
• Collaborate with teams across Zeta to gather requirements, align on integration patterns, and ensure the platform meets real-world application needs.
• Mentor engineers, lead technical initiatives, and help establish the engineering practices and standards for the platform.

What We’re Looking For:

8+ years of software engineering with a track record of building and operating platform-level systems. You’re deeply proficient in at least two of Python, Java, Ruby, or Node.js, with solid React/TypeScript skills on the frontend. You understand what it takes to build developer-facing platforms in the age of AI.

You bring hands-on experience with AWS services and you’re comfortable operating in multi-tenant, compliant environments. Continuous delivery, test-driven development, and agile are disciplines you practice with conviction. You’re already using AI-assisted coding tools and you’re excited about building platforms that leverage agentic workflows.

GENERAL FUNCTION

• Knowledge of financial services is a plus

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Triage production issues, resolve incidents and ensure system stability, availability
• Improve the quality and performance of various applications and services in the ecosystem
• Collaborate closely with the Engineers to develop effective technical design and strategies, solving complex problems in the tech stack and driving execution to closure.
• Propose and implement  architectural changes that address scaling and performance challenges.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to deliver viable solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Own the engineering excellence and operational readiness of the service driving the SLO,SLI, SLA of the relevant services
• Ensure high quality services through comprehensive integration test and unit testing.
• Debug production issues effectively, leveraging APM tools to trace transactions across various systems, provide short term / long term fixes based on the Root Cause Analysis.
• Oversee all microservices within your purview, ensuring quality, security,availability, scalability and other “ilities”
• Teach, mentor, grow, and provide advice to other domain experts, individual contributors, across several teams in live markets.
• Establishing various best practices for software development and encouraging their adoption with the team and organization
• Help develop and improve the overall technical direction of the organization including driving/ building best -in-class engineering practices and automation.
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders,  including Product Managers, Designers, Marketing teams.
• Provide L3 engineering support to Operational teams.

Must Have Skills:

• Minimum 15 years of hands-on coding experience, with a strong emphasis on Java and Go for backend development, as well as React and native app development for frontend.
• Proven experience in debugging production issues and a strong ability to read and interpret APM tools like New Relic.
• Strong design and architectural experience in building various highly-scalable and highly-available products on cloud providers like AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Should have experience in IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation
• Should have experience in CI/ CD tools like Jenkins, ArgoCD
• Should have experience in messaging middleware like Kafka, RabbitMQ
• Should have experience in databases like PostgresSQL, MongoDB
• Should have experience in Java, Spring Boot, Go lang, ReactJS.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC Activities which include Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Post-Production Support etc.
•  Strong people management skills to lead and build a high-performing team.
• Experience in collaborating with Product teams and Managers.
• Experience in a product-based / hyper-growth environment is highly advantageous.
• Experience in Micro Serviced based development and good experience with Kubernetes, Docker.
• Experience in Web applications. 
• Working knowledge in Domain driven development would be an advantage.
• Prior experience in the telecom domain would be an advantage.
• Experience with Data and AI will be an added advantage.

YOUR IMPACT

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help drive the design, development, and enhancement of our platform. You will build high-quality, scalable, and secure software that powers enterprise data exchange for more than 1,000 customers worldwide.

• Architect and develop enterprise-grade services using Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Hibernate
• Design and optimize highly available, high-throughput systems for file transfer and data processing
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integration endpoints for enterprise customers
• Implement security best practices across authentication, authorization, and encryption
• Contribute to React-based front-end development for admin and monitoring interfaces
• Leverage Docker and Kubernetes to build and deploy cloud-native services
• Partner with Product Management to translate requirements into scalable technical designs
• Lead code reviews, drive continuous improvement, and mentor junior engineers
• Play an active role in roadmap discussions, technical strategy, and innovation initiatives

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years building and shipping production software in Java/Spring ecosystems
• Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud deployment
• Deep understanding of secure protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) or willingness to master them
• Solid experience with SQL and relational data modeling; familiarity with NoSQL is a plus
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD or equivalent for automated build/test/deploy
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible) a plus
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). 
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
