About You and The Role
Zipline is looking for a Head of Communications for Africa — a strategic leader who can set and drive an ambitious communications vision while also rolling up their sleeves to execute in a fast-paced, high-growth, resource-constrained environment.
You will serve as a critical member of the Africa leadership team and a thought partner to senior executives. This role spans in-country marketing, external communications, internal communications, and executive communications, and requires someone who thrives as both a big-picture strategist and a hands-on operator. You will own Zipline’s narrative in Africa, strengthen our brand across markets, and help champion the impact Zipline creates for governments, partners, and communities.
You understand what it takes to build trust with leaders, influence stakeholders, and guide decision-making during moments of opportunity and uncertainty.
This role is open within Africa, preferably in one of the markets we have a presence in (Ghana, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Rwanda, Kenya), with frequent travel across the region.
What You’ll Do
External Communications & PR
- Own Zipline Africa’s external communications strategy across all markets.
- Lead media relations, crisis communications, thought leadership, and proactive storytelling.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, industry groups, partners, and government stakeholders.
- Develop compelling narratives that communicate Zipline’s impact, innovation, and mission.
- Oversee press releases, media briefings, speaking engagements, conferences, and signature events.
Internal Communications
- Drive internal communications for Africa, ensuring clarity, alignment, and visibility for key initiatives.
- Partner with Africa leadership to craft messages for All Hands, org-wide updates, and internal moments that build culture.

Jumia Global is the cross-border arm of Jumia, serving as the primary link between our international vendors (primarily in China) and our local consumers. We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented professional in Ghana to serve as the critical bridge between our Commercial, Operations, and Logistics teams.
In this role, you will be the "boots on the ground" ensuring that international inventory moves seamlessly from inbound to the customer’s doorstep.
What you will be doing:
1. Inbound & Import Monitoring

Capacity Management: Book delivery pre-alerts based on real-time Warehouse capacity to ensure a smooth flow of goods.

Precision Tracking: Strive for a 100% Accuracy Rate (matching quantity received vs. quantity inbounded).

Process Efficiency: Drive the speed and quality of Inbound processes, specifically focusing on Quality Control (QC) and processing turnaround times.
2. Resolution of Inbound Issues

Discrepancy Management: Formally record all inbound issues (e.g., excess quantities, incorrect content) in the appropriate trackers.

Hands-on Fixes: Independently resolve operational hurdles that don’t require external intervention, such as creating new Consignment Orders (COs) or updating product imagery.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the liaison with Key Account Managers (KAMs) to resolve complex seller-related issues.
3. Stock & Inventory Control

Technical Adjustments: Perform stock operations based on Inventory and QC reports, including re-inbounding items under correct references.

Compliance: Proactively identify and remove counterfeit or prohibited items from stock to protect our marketplace integrity.

Stock Movement: Manage the exit and transfer of aging stock in preparation for Return to Vendor (RTV).
4. RTV & Aftersales Governance

Process Adherence: Ensure all defective items are correctly captured within the RTV workflow.

Timeline Management: Strictly enforce the 21-day holding period for Aftersales items before forfeiture.

Error Correction: Audit and rectify any instances where items are forfeited prematurely.
5. Customer & Seller Experience (CXP/VXP)
