ABOUT THE JOB
Anduril is seeking a Head of Frontier AI to build a world class machine learning team across capabilities, product, and infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the overall strategy for instantiating safe and secure agentic and perception capabilities relevant to the division's programs and products and set research initiatives that usher in new frameworks of operator-to-agent teaming to achieve operational-efficiency.

• Drive strategy that fields safe and secure performant agents on embedded warfighting compute.

About the job

At Skylight, product managers are responsible for strategy, planning, execution, stakeholder management, and team health. Product managers partner with researchers, designers, engineers, client stakeholders, and others to inform their product decisions. At a high level, it’s the product manager’s job to figure out what to build next and why.

As a Product Manager supporting ACF’s grants management systems, you will partner closely with senior leadership, grants management staff, and technical teams to help translate strategy, policy, and operational needs into delivered system improvements across ACF’s grants management tool suite.

What you’ll do

• Lead a cross-functional team of researchers, designers, engineers, and subject matter experts to build and ship high-impact products and services

Minimum qualifications

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril’s Lattice software platform integrates together many sensors into a single cohesive view of the world, providing needed context for our users. AI Engineers on Anduril’s Frontier AI team build edge-compatible, generative AI systems into the Lattice software platform to provide features and products that improve autonomy and reduce cognitive burden on the warfighter. Intro to Position

The Lead AI Solutions Engineer, AI Labs, is a foundational role in building NPR's first Generative AI (GAI)-focused product development team. Reporting to the VP of AI Labs, this engineer will be responsible for the technical development and implementation of generative AI solutions. The core mission is to engineer systems that leverage GAI to enhance the quality and actionability of our content metadata, thereby directly supporting the organization's goals of improving content personalization and increasing editorial efficiency. This role involves hands-on work in integrating AI products into core NPR systems, ensuring solutions are scalable, align with ethical guidelines, and are built upon industry best practices. This is a critical opportunity to shape NPR's technical AI adoption and build a new, innovative function.

Responsibilities

• Engineering & Implementation: Design, develop, and deploy scalable Generative AI (GAI) solutions, focusing on enhancing content metadata quality and actionability to meet organizational objectives.
• Architecture & Technical Best Practices: Establish and champion technical best practices for Generative AI systems, including MLOps, RAG architectures, prompt engineering, and model evaluation, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
• Cross-functional Development: Collaborate closely with Product Managers, data scientists, software and infrastructure engineers, and relevant subject matter experts to translate product requirements and roadmaps into robust, production-ready AI systems.
• System Optimization & Performance: Implement data-driven methods, A/B testing, and performance monitoring to optimize the efficiency, scalability, and impact of AI models and pipelines.
• Technical Communication: Clearly articulate technical architectures, development progress, and engineering challenges to product and non-technical stakeholders.
• Responsible AI: Integrate ethical AI principles and compliance standards directly into the design and implementation of all AI products, in alignment with company policies.
• Technology Scouting: Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to drive continuous technical innovation within the AI Labs.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in software development, data science, or machine learning engineering, with a focus on building and deploying production systems.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with generative AI, machine learning, or data products.
• Expert proficiency in Python and experience creating functional prototypes to validate technical feasibility and user flows.
• Demonstrable understanding and experience building products that leverage Large Language Models, RAG architectures, prompting, function calling, retrieval, vector databases, embeddings, fine-tuning, and model evaluation.
• Familiarity with building and integrating MCP servers and agentic workflows.
• Background in creating QA systems for AI processes and development.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate technical architectures and challenges to product and non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative and respectful approach to work and an ability to adapt quickly to change.
• A deep commitment to the mission of NPR and to the responsible implementation of Generative AI technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and building highly scalable, production-grade AI/ML pipelines and services.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and MLOps tools, particularly MLFlow and Vertex AI. 
• Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD and enterprise infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience working in media organizations and an understanding of media delivery systems.

Work Location & Requirements

• Hybrid Permitted: This is a hybrid permitted role. Some aspects of this role require duties better performed at an NPR facility. The employee will be required to be in the office at the Washington, D.C. location at least two days a week. The employee must also reside in an NPR-supported location (D.C., MD, or VA).

Compensation

Salary Range: The U.S. based anticipated salary range for this opportunity is $187,000 - $208,000 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.

ABOUT THE JOB

The ACLU seeks applicants for the full-time position of Data Scientist II, Natural Language Processing (NLP) Specialist in the Analytics Division of the Technology Department of the ACLU’s National office in New York, NY, San Francisco, CA, or Washington, DC. This is a hybrid role that has in-office requirements of two (2) days per week or eight (8) days per month. 

The ACLU Technology Department is a broad umbrella covering both the ACLU’s Analytics and its Product & Engineering teams, two robust and innovative divisions that power the work of the ACLU. The department provides trusted, dependable, and impactful analytics, engineering, as well as product management and product design expertise for the ACLU. In partnership with experts across the ACLU, the Technology Team delivers best-in-class solutions, services, and innovation that advance the ACLU mission and organizational priorities. The tech team strives to ensure the ACLU leads by example in the ethical use of technology by ensuring privacy and security standards are maintained, directional insights are used to inform programming and business strategy, best-in-class products are designed to get the ACLU message out into the world and grow the ACLU supporter base, as well as to help steward high standards for algorithmic fairness, accountability, and transparency.  

The Analytics division includes analysts, data scientists, survey experts, social scientists, and analytics engineers that support evidence-based decision making and bring quantitative insights on our issues to the courtroom and the public. 

This position is part of a collective bargaining unit. It is represented by ACLU Staff United (ASU).

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

Reporting to the Data Science Manager — Algorithmic Justice Specialist and collaborating closely with our DevOps Engineering Team, Product Manager for Discovery, and Algorithmic Justice Fellow, the Data Scientist II, NLP Specialist, will support development and evaluation work for high-priority, carefully scoped projects using NLP to support the ACLU’s mission. In this role, the NLP Specialist will be responsible for evaluating proposed uses of generative AI and non-generative natural language AI systems, providing recommendations on whether AI tooling is appropriate or ill-suited for various tasks, and when appropriate, contributing to the development and implementation of AI-based solutions to support the organization’s mission.  

YOUR DAY TO DAY

• Work with various teams and departments to evaluate proposed AI use cases for feasibility and alignment with ACLU values and requirements related to privacy, security, transparency, bias, and environmental impacts  
• Provide recommendations to department and organizational leaders on whether AI tooling is appropriate or ill-suited for various tasks and use cases 
• Develop recommendations and architecture plans for intentional, carefully crafted uses of NLP tooling, appropriately selecting generative or non-generative AI systems and related guardrails and monitoring based on the context and requirements of the use case 
• Contribute to the development and implementation of AI-based solutions when appropriate, collaborating with various departments to ensure successful design, deployment, and continuous evaluation of such systems 
• Contribute to the establishment of AI governance practices and standards in collaboration with colleagues across the organization 
• Contribute to the development of context-specific, high-quality benchmarks for language modelling systems tailored for civil rights and public interest organizations 
• Contribute to various other projects supporting the ACLU’s litigation and policy work by applying natural language processing methods to policy or regulatory text data  
• When relevant, collaborate with academic and civil society researchers to turn your learnings and insights into resources to benefit other public interest organizations 
• Brief departmental leadership on relevant AI research and developments and prepare materials for senior leaders’ speaking engagements on AI issues 
• Communicate to non-technical audiences—including ACLU lawyers, policy advocates, and other staff—details of how large language models (LLMs) and small language models (SLMs) are designed and deployed, including their civil rights implications 
• Implement tooling to estimate the environmental impact of deployed AI systems

• Strong familiarity with language modeling and natural language techniques, including strong understanding of the core concept underlying the design of small language models (SLMs) and large language models (LLMs)  
• Substantial experience writing code in Python and working with open-source NLP libraries such as transformers and NLTK 
• Substantial experience working with text data from legal, policy, and social science contexts, such as legal filings, statutes, and regulations 
• Familiarity with the core concepts underlying multi-modal (e.g., text-to-speech, text-to-video, etc.) generative AI systems and experience working with multi-modal datasets 
• Familiarity with popular approaches and frameworks for monitoring and evaluating AI-enabled systems, especially generative AI systems 
• Professional or research experience developing software and strong familiarity with common software engineering practices such as version control, testing, and code reviews 
• Experience developing documentation of technical products and systems tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences 
• Experience working with cloud services (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Azure) a nice to have 
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technologists without NLP expertise and non-technical stakeholders

Position Overview

FGS Global looking for an experienced UX Designer to provide project support to the firm’s Website team. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands both UX thinking and execution, and who is comfortable moving from research and wireframes into production-ready site structures using Webflow. The UX Designer will partner with creative designers, developers, and account teams to design user-centered experiences for the firm’s clients that are practical, scalable, and aligned with business goals. 

This engagement may be performed on-site or hybrid from our Washington, D.C., New York City, or Kingston, NY offices, as needed for collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Prototyping 
• Create wireframes, low- and mid-fidelity prototypes, and UX documentation in Figma
• Develop sitemaps and page structures as part of a scalable design-to-build workflow

Webflow Execution 

• Collaborate closely with developers and directly implement designs in the Webflow platform
• Ensure UX intent is preserved through build, including layout, interactions, animations, and accessibility best practices

Collaboration 

• Work alongside UX/UI designers, developers, and project managers to iterate on solutions, while carefully tracking and incorporating feedback
• Present design and UX rationale clearly to internal stakeholders and account teams

Design Systems & Assets 

• Contribute to and help maintain design systems, component libraries, and UX guidelines
• Create UX-related assets that support consistent implementation across projects

Iteration & Quality 

• Apply feedback from testing, internal reviews, and client input to refine designs
• Ensure experiences meet usability, accessibility, performance, and motion standards

UX Strategy & Research 

• Plan and conduct user research activities such as interviews, usability testing, and content audits

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as a UX Designer (agency or in-house)
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility, and responsive design
• Strong working knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
• Practical experience working with and building in Webflow
• Hands-on experience using Relume for sitemaps, wireframes, and scalable site structures, is a plus
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to enhance design workflow and creativity—including generative AI applications (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini), image and video generation platforms (e.g., Midjourney, Sora), or AI product prototyping tools (e.g., v0 or equivalents)
• Experience designing and implementing website animations and interactions
• Basic understanding of front-end concepts (HTML/CSS) as they relate to UX
• Ability to think strategically while also executing at a detailed level
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in cross-functional teams
• A portfolio demonstrating UX thinking, process, and shipped work

This will be a 1099 independent contractor engagement, and the initial term will be for three months, with the option to extend. A submitted portfolio will be required. 

The hourly rate will be between $50-$65/hr.
