Your Role at impact.com:

Reporting to the Manager of Customer Operations Systems, the Internal Systems Engineer (Applied AI) is a specialized, high-impact builder role dedicated to supercharging our Customer Operations teams (Support, Success, Onboarding, Implementation).

This is a highly practical, application-focused engineering position instrumental to our AI transformation. You will spend your time across three types of work:

1. Building AI-powered tools and agents. You will integrate applied AI into our workflows using modern frameworks. You will consult with business stakeholders to help explain the art of the possible, guide them in defining logic and prompts, and own building and maintaining agentic workflows and tools. Example projects include building an AI-powered QA and training tool with a RAG component for new support agents, architecting agentic workflows for our onboarding team, or building a FreshDesk integration that suggests draft responses to tickets.
2. Building and maintaining a shared agent platform. This is what makes AI scale beyond our team. You will build and maintain the templates, approved patterns, and deployment infrastructure that enable people across Customer Operations to build their own agents without needing to figure out hosting, monitoring, or API connectivity themselves. When a Technical Services lead wants to build an agent that automates "pixel not firing" investigations, they should be able to do it on your platform without writing a deployment script. You own making self-serve actually work.
3. Building robust internal software, integrations, and automations - such as developing custom FreshDesk widgets to support our agents. You will own the full lifecycle of these apps: building, hosting, monitoring, maintaining, and eventually retiring them when they're no longer needed.

A note on how you'll work with others: when someone across Customer Operations builds a pilot that proves value, you don't take it over. You partner with them to elevate it - bringing engineering rigor, production infrastructure, and scale while they maintain creative control and ongoing input. When someone has a great idea but isn't technical enough to build it themselves, your first instinct is to build it with them, growing their skills in the process. You're an accelerator, not a bottleneck.

What You'll Do:

• Software Development Foundation: Proven experience building, hosting, and maintaining applications and tools. You are comfortable writing clean, functional code (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.) to solve operational problems. You understand what it means to keep something running in production, not just get it working once.
• API & Integration Expertise: Deep experience working with REST APIs. You can easily build connectors between distinct SaaS platforms to automate data flows and trigger actions.
• Applied AI Engineering: Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration frameworks (like LangChain or LangGraph). You understand MCPs, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, DAG vs linear flows, engineering HITL systems, and have built real-world systems using these rails.
• AI Evaluation & Quality: Experience setting up and running evals for LLM outputs. You know how to build systems that grade, evaluate, and test AI responses for accuracy and safety (e.g., LLM-as-a-judge). You understand CI/CD for AI systems and can build regression testing pipelines.
• Platform Thinking: You don't just build one-off tools - you think about how to make your work reusable. You can design templates, abstractions, and deployment patterns that other people (including non-engineers) can use to build on top of what you've created.
• Systems Thinking & Process Orientation: You don't write code in a vacuum; you map out complex operational workflows before you start building. You have a knack for seeing how different tools, teams, and data flows interact, ensuring your solutions address the actual problem without creating downstream issues.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work closely with non-technical business stakeholders. You can take a process flow and prompt designs from a business leader and turn them into a functioning, hosted application. Equally important: you can teach - walking a non-technical person through building their first agent is as valuable as building it yourself.
• Autonomous Builder: You are a self-starter who thrives in an agile environment. You don't need excessive hand-holding to figure out how to host a script or deploy a small internal app.
• Relentless Tinkerer: You were the first person in your current role to start building agents. You have had personal subscriptions to Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.

What You Bring:

• Experience building custom apps or integrations specifically for Freshdesk (or similar enterprise ticketing systems like Zendesk/Jira).
• Background working in or building tools for Customer Support, Customer Success, or Onboarding teams.
• Experience integrating with knowledge base platforms (like Gitbook or similar documentation sites).
• Proven experience taking automation projects from concept to deployment within a large, complex organization.
• Experience building internal platforms or developer tools that other teams use to self-serve.
• Experience with monitoring and observability for AI systems in production.

Salary range: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year, plus an additional 5% variable annual bonus contingent on Company performance and eligible to receive a Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant.

About the Role

The Director, AI Marketing Enablement will work in close partnership with the VP, Marketing Campaigns and the Sr. Director of Marketing Strategy to lead Emplifi’s transformation into an AI-native marketing organization. What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Hardware Technician, you own the geometric truth of every cell that leaves our floor. After Controls Bring-Up is complete, you set up a FARO Vantage laser tracker, level the rail, align positioners, and run the RoboDK robot calibration that tells the welder where it actually is within fractions of a millimeter. You'll capture the data, validate it against our tolerances, package it per the cell type, and hand it off to our Logical Bring-Up team. Without your work, the welder is guessing.
This is a precision role for someone who is at home with a laser tracker, comfortable around large industrial robots in teach mode, and gets satisfaction from clean data.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate a FARO Vantage laser tracker: tripod, extension, level, warm-up, and stable lock on SMRs.
• Survey and shim the robot transfer unit (RTU) rail to level within tolerance; re-survey for confirmation.
• Align positioner headstocks and tailstocks (single-side, dual-side, dynamic, static, indexable variants) and capture before/after data.
• Establish robot base coordinate systems in Polyworks Inspector via macro — verify Z-up, X-down-track.
• Run RoboDK robot calibration on welder and (where applicable) global scanner robots — base setup, geometric calibration measurement set, and validation poses.
• Capture RTU and positioner / rail-axis data using our Polyworks macros.
• Generate, clean, and export Polyworks coordinate-system and reference-point reports at six-digit decimal precision; export tables to CSV.
• Run our Python script in RoboDK to compute robot calibration error; verify against RoboDK-reported norms and flag any deviation.
• Assemble the per-cell data package (CSV, TXT, PDF) per our File Naming Convention table for the cell variant; upload to the cell's calibration-results folder.
• Walk the bring-up engineer through the data package; obtain written acceptance; tear down and pack out.
• Identify recurring fixturing, build, or alignment issues that show up on the tracker, and feed them back to design and build through our ECR process.
• Help us automate. Half of this job is repetitive (rename a file, change decimal precision, upload). If you can write Python or shell to kill those steps, we want it.
• Maintain our tracker's calibration certificate, SMRs, cabling, and bring-up laptop image; flag re-cal needs proactively.
• Mentor junior techs — we're growing the team, and being a force-multiplier matters here.

Who You Are

• 3+ years hands-on experience with a FARO laser tracker (Vantage / Ion / equivalent) in a manufacturing or contract-metrology environment.
• Working proficiency with Polyworks Inspector — running and modifying macros, generating and editing inspection reports.
• Practical understanding of dimensional metrology fundamentals: GD&T, coordinate systems, alignment, datum structures, measurement uncertainty.

We are looking for a Welding Engineer who will work side-by-side with a team of welding engineers to develop an autonomous robotic welding system capable of automatically generating custom motion plans and weld parameters for any part that it sees. You will also support teams with welding experiments, generating the data that propels our technology forward. • Run weld parameter selection experiments to identify a range of welding parameters (voltage, wire speed, travel speed) that can be used for new customer applications

We need a Technical Marketing Engineer. Someone who's spent real time in manufacturing and can turn that knowledge into content that technical buyers actually trust.

This isn't a traditional marketing role. You'll sit on the marketing team but spend your time with engineering, applications, sales, and customer success. Your job is to make sure everything we put out speaks the language of the shop floor, not Silicon Valley.

What You’ll Do

• Write white papers, case studies, application guides, product one-pagers, and blog posts grounded in actual manufacturing and welding knowledge

Experienced:

• Implement, validate, and iterate on machine learning algorithms for weld perception tasks, including point cloud registration, seam detection, and joint geometry estimation, progressively expanding coverage across joint types and part geometries.

• Design and lead experiments evaluating state-of-the-art deep learning models, including transformer-based and geometric feature learning architectures
• Design and lead real-time perception systems such as during-weld seam tracking, applying sensor fusion with probabilistic state estimation (e.g., Kalman filtering) to achieve robust weld performance.
• Define and own the end-to-end ML lifecycle, from dataset design and annotation strategy through training, benchmarking, and fleet deployment, with clear go/no-go evaluation frameworks.
• Architect distributed training and hyperparameter optimization workflows; drive strategy for data acquisition, annotation tooling, and synthetic vs. real scan data usage.
• Mentor engineers across levels, providing technical leadership on perception systems and ML methodology.

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join us as a founding member. You will be among the first ML engineers on a research stack that does not exist anywhere else in the field built around visual reasoning, learned action policies, and reinforcement-learning fine-tuning from real customer data.

What You’ll Do

• Build the team's robot-learning stack from the ground up. This is a founding role; you are designing the training infrastructure, data pipelines, simulation environments, model architectures, and deployment workflows — not inheriting them. Multi-modal perception, scene understanding, and learned action generation work in tight coordination on the stack you help create.

• Sim-to-real transfer experience — built simulation environments, implemented domain randomisation, transferred policies to physical robots, debugged where it broke.
• Implementation experience with diffusion-based or flow-matching action policies for robots, and with action chunking.
• Reinforcement learning for robotics applied on real hardware — sample-efficient on-robot methods, residual RL on top of pretrained policies, on-policy fine-tuning of foundation policies.

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of a neural welding simulator - a learned world model that captures the visual and physical dynamics of welding and enables large-scale RL training. This role sits at the intersection of generative modeling, robotics, and applied physics. It is research-heavy by design, while still grounded in production reality.

This role can be located in our Columbus, Ohio Headquarters or Remote.

What You’ll Do

• Build a learned world model of the welding process that predicts future system behavior under robot actions.
• Develop multimodal neural simulators incorporating signals such as 3D scans, video, thermal data, and electrical measurements.

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Tech Lead) for this new team. You write code, set the technical direction, make the architectural decisions the team builds on, mentor junior and intermediate engineers, and help shape how the team works.

What You’ll Do

• Set the ML technical direction for the team, architectural choices on perception, reasoning, and action generation; training methodology; data strategy; the path from research bet to deployed capability. As one of the first senior hires, you are designing the approach, not extending it.
• Own the architectural workstreams that define the team's research and engineering bets — multiple core build streams across action-policy learning, world-model-based supervision, and policy-orchestration interfaces.
• Design hybrid physics-ML architectures for the integrated loco-manipulation stack. • Mentor and shape the team, guide junior and intermediate ICs across software, ML, robotics, and perception backgrounds; establish code-quality standards, review practices, and engineering norms; help identify and attract next hires. You write code throughout — this is a tech-lead role, not a step away from the work.

Who You Are

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on robot learning experience. You have shipped sim-to-real policies on real robots, across different tasks or platforms.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship. You have made architectural decisions on robot learning systems that others built on, and you have meaningfully shaped the development of more-junior engineers as a tech lead. This can be in academia (leading a lab subgroup, advising students) or industry.
• Deep sim-to-real expertise — domain randomisation, system identification, teacher-student distillation, sim-to-online fine-tuning. You can design a transfer strategy for a novel problem.
• Full-stack robot learning — fluent across simulation construction, policy training, data collection, real-world deployment, and failure diagnosis.
• Physics-informed ML or hybrid control experience — PINNs, neural ODEs, MPC with learned dynamics, process-model-conditioned generation, or similar.
• A defensible view on visual-reasoning-centric substrates for grounded spatial / physical reasoning.
