Role summary - We’re looking for a highly talented corporate lawyer to be part of our great global legal team. The Legal Counsel, Mainland China, will provide legal support in a variety of cross-organizational matters, including corporate matters, privacy, employment, procurement and banking relationships. The role will also support PRC regulatory matters in close collaboration with regional and global stakeholders. The position is based in Shanghai and will report to the Head of Legal Affairs, China, based in Shanghai.

What you’ll do

• Providing legal support on corporate governance matters for Payoneer’s entities in China.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of corporate and commercial documents and agreements, including purchasing agreements, consulting agreements, partnership agreements, policies, and engagements with financial institutions.
• Providing regulatory legal support on PRC matters related to payments, FX as well as data protection and privacy.
• Providing guidance on employment law matters.
• Partnering with global legal and cross-functional teams to align on group policies, standards, and contract templates.
• Partnering with business, product and R&D to support the regulatory assessment of new products, services and GTM initiatives in China.
• Liaising and working with outside counsel in the region.
• Staying up to date with applicable PRC laws, regulations and industry guidance that impact Payoneer, monitoring key PRC regulatory developments and sharing such learnings with relevant stakeholders.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on legal matters, and collaborating with business, operations, finance, treasury, tech, compliance, internal audit and other teams within Payoneer to enable effective execution.

Who you are 

• 4-7 years of post-qualification legal experience.
• Bar qualification, in good standing.
• Excellent English professional language proficiency, spoken and written.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Collaborative team player experienced at working with cross-functional teams across multiple jurisdictions and with flexibility to align with colleagues in different time zones.

Not a Must, but a Great Advantage：

• Privacy expertise, including PIPL and experience handling cross-border data transfer projects.
• Experience working directly with regulators and regulatory authorities in China
• Mixed background from both a reputable law firm and in-house legal team. Financial services, payments industry, and money transmitter experience is preferred.
• Multinational company experience and comfort operating in a matrixed environment.

• CASETiFY is seeking an Accounting Clerk experienced in managing our liquidity and vendor ecosystem with precision, ensuring seamless global settlements.

Job Description

• Establish and maintain supplier and customer reports, monitor AR and AP balances, and provide real-time financial information.
• Review expense claims and reimbursements for compliance, appropriateness of categories and amounts, and validity of supporting documents.
• Manage end-to-end accounts receivable process, including contract review, customer reconciliation, invoicing, and cash application to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Oversee supplier file management, AP reconciliation, payment terms, invoice verification, and processing of payment requests in line with contracts and company policies.
• Coordinate with suppliers and customers on invoices and reconciliations, resolve outstanding issues, and support business operations.
• Perform regular AP aging analysis, identify abnormal items, and ensure completeness of liability records.
• File and archive supplier, customer, and daily reimbursement documents properly.
• Assist in inventory counts and audit support to maintain compliant and accurate financial records.
• Handle end-to-end export customs declarations: collect order information, apply and write off numbers on third-party platforms, submit via Customs Single Window, provide documentation to brokers/forwarders, track progress, and resolve corrections for smooth cargo clearance.
• Organize and reconcile complete customs documents for three-way matching and closed-loop management; maintain systematic filing with consistent time sequencing.
• Follow rotation schedules, complete daily handovers and Customs Declaration Handover Log, and remain available outside working hours for urgent matters.
• Confirm cargo and loading details with business teams, submit timely VAT Refund filings, liaise with customs/brokers/platforms to resolve issues, and support foreign exchange settlement.
• Maintain the Export Customs Declaration Ledger, submit weekly reports to the Finance Manager, monitor policy changes, propose improvements, resolve inspections/mismatches/disputes, and build strong relationships with customs authorities.
• Complete other relevant tasks assigned by management.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma Holder in Accounting, Business or related disciplines.
• 1+ year of hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including general bookkeeping and managing Accounts Receivable and Payable.
• Comfortable with written communication in both English and Cantonese.
• Good computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and Chinese Word Processing.
• Demonstrated sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and a proactive attitude.
• A strong team player with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet tight deadlines.

• You have extensive experience in high-level investment management and understand how to bridge the gap between "Code is Law" and traditional legal frameworks.

• You don't just understand law; you understand smart contracts, liquidity pools, and the unique legal challenges of non-custodial investment strategies.

• You are comfortable making high-stakes decisions in "grey" regulatory areas, providing clear, actionable advice rather than just listing risks.

• You are adept at managing a network of international law firms to ensure seamless operations across different regulatory regimes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of legal experience, with a significant portion spent in Investment Management (Hedge Funds, PE, or VC).

• Proven track record in a Senior Legal role within the crypto/Web3 sector.

• Deep knowledge of global securities laws and the regulatory landscape for DeFi.

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree and active bar membership in good standing.

• Experience with cross-border tax structuring and offshore fund jurisdictions (e.g., Cayman, BVI, Singapore, etc.).
