The Vice President, Value-Based Finance is the enterprise owner of financial performance for Upward Health’s risk-based business model. This role is accountable for how value-based contracts perform economically, how financial risk is measured and managed, and how those realities are reflected in company-wide planning and strategy.
This position operates as a hands-on executive leader, combining strategic influence with deep analytical rigor in a lean, high-impact finance organization. The VP serves as the primary financial authority on value-based care economics, directly influencing payer strategy, contract structure, and organizational risk appetite.
The role partners closely with the CFO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors to translate complex healthcare economics into clear, actionable insights that guide enterprise decision-making. Unlike traditional FP&A roles, this position carries decision-shaping responsibility, owning both the interpretation and performance management of risk-bearing contracts.

The Opportunity
The new Market Research business unit will be focused on data monetization, market intelligence, and research-driven revenue. The General Manager of Mode Market Research will build this business from the ground up, own multiple revenue streams, and turn underutilized data assets into meaningful profit centers. We are looking for a founder-minded General Manager to build this business from zero to recurring, enterprise-grade revenue.
The GM of Mode Market Research will own four data monetization segments and one existing web product. The mission is to create revenue lines, structure partnerships, collaborate with the Chief Data Officer and product teams, and scale each business into an independent profit engine with dedicated staff. The first phase is hands-on execution. Hiring follows once revenue baselines are met. This role blends data strategy, partnerships, product execution, and full P&L responsibility.

The Security Operations (SecOps) team is responsible for design, implementation and evolution of Canonical security practices, techniques, tools, systems and policies. The team is the primary owner of strategy and practices that determine how Canonical secures its data, internal infrastructure and build processes. They are responsible for assuring the security and integrity of our own infrastructure and product deployments. They design and implement technical security controls that ensure security threats are automatically identified, contained and remediated. The team will also contribute ideas and requirements for Canonical product security, improving the resilience and robustness of all Ubuntu customers and users subject to cyber attack.
The SecOps team's mission is not only to secure Canonical, but also to contribute to the security of the wider open source ecosystem.
