We are actively recruiting for this role to support Twilio’s global security regulatory program and directly support the SCRA Lead in executing and scaling the company’s regulatory strategy.
This position is responsible for independently owning delegated components of regulatory analysis, triage, normalization, and operationalization of global cybersecurity and telecom regulatory obligations (e.g., NIS 2, TSA UK, Singapore IMDA), while contributing to broader program-level initiatives led by the SCRA Lead.
The role operates with high autonomy and is expected to take ownership of assigned workstreams end-to-end, requiring strong critical thinking, defensible regulatory interpretation, designing and executing cross-functional initiatives, and the ability to operate without detailed instruction.

Although a second line of defense, Compliance partners with the business to support new products, markets, and initiatives, as well as issue identification, remediation plans, and risk assessment. Compliance uses multiple data sources to enable informed decision-making, strengthen controls, and support better outcomes for consumers.
Affirm is seeking a Compliance Lead to join the Direct-to-Consumer Product Compliance team. This role is primarily focused on product advisory, with close partnership across Product, Engineering, and Operations teams throughout the development lifecycle. You will engage in the decision-making process, helping teams identify key risks, ask the right questions, and navigate complex and ambiguous scenarios. While regulatory requirements may be clearly defined, applying them in a product context often requires thoughtful interpretation. In this role, you will operate effectively in gray areas, balancing regulatory expectations with business and customer considerations, and providing guidance that is both compliant and practical. You will work with cross-functional partners to evaluate tradeoffs and develop flexible, well-reasoned solutions that enable progress while managing risk.
The Compliance Lead will play a key role in ensuring business partners adhere to applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will collaborate closely with Legal and Compliance stakeholders to assess risk, interpret regulatory requirements, and guide teams toward effective and sustainable compliance outcomes. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in financial services compliance, a solid understanding of the fintech landscape, and demonstrated experience advising on consumer-facing products within complex regulatory environments.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with the Product teams to optimize Affirm's offerings by identifying and mitigating compliance risks without compromising business objectives.
Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure they comply with regulations and industry standards.
Partner cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Product to complete reviews and address root causes of compliance issues.
Develop and maintain compliance training and reference materials.
Operate in a fast-paced environment while delivering detailed and diligent work.
Support the completion of the compliance risk assessment and control inventory, including collecting and documenting results.
Serve as an expert on regulatory compliance, especially as it applies to new and revised financial products and services.
What We Look For
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (compliance certifications a plus)
5+ years of experience in a compliance product advisory role within financial services
Experience supporting or advising on products subject to TILA (Reg. Z) and/or EFTA (Reg. E) (e.g., credit cards, payments, or deposit-like products)
Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and making risk-based decisions with incomplete information
Experience advising revenue-generating stakeholder groups, ideally including Product and Engineering teams
A strong interest in fintech and consumer financial protections
Working knowledge of consumer financial laws and regulations, including UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, TILA (Reg. Z), ECOA (Reg. B), EFTA (Reg. E), and TISA (Reg. DD)
Inquisitive and proactive in identifying problems, proposing creative solutions, and adapting in a fast-paced environment

The Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team is a group of dedicated professionals committed to helping Affirm scale, innovate, and provide outstanding products for consumers, merchants, and key partners. We combine legal, compliance, and policy expertise to guide growth, shape products, and build trust across our ecosystem. Our work spans multiple professional disciplines and provides the foundation for Affirm’s mission to deliver honest financial products.
Affirm’s Compliance team designs and implements a compliance program that proactively addresses regulatory requirements while also identifying potential compliance issues that may arise. Compliance program activities include advisory, training, testing & monitoring, reporting, and oversight. Although a second line of defense, Compliance partners with the business to support new products, markets, and initiatives, as well as issue identification, remediation plans, and risk assessment. Compliance uses multiple data sources to enable informed decision-making, strengthen controls, and support better outcomes for consumers.
Affirm is seeking a Compliance Lead to join the Direct-to-Consumer Product Compliance team. This role is primarily focused on product advisory, with close partnership across Product, Engineering, and Operations teams throughout the development lifecycle. You will engage in the decision-making process, helping teams identify key risks, ask the right questions, and navigate complex and ambiguous scenarios. While regulatory requirements may be clearly defined, applying them in a product context often requires thoughtful interpretation. In this role, you will operate effectively in gray areas, balancing regulatory expectations with business and customer considerations, and providing guidance that is both compliant and practical. You will work with cross-functional partners to evaluate tradeoffs and develop flexible, well-reasoned solutions that enable progress while managing risk.
The Compliance Lead will play a key role in ensuring business partners adhere to applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will collaborate closely with Legal and Compliance stakeholders to assess risk, interpret regulatory requirements, and guide teams toward effective and sustainable compliance outcomes. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in financial services compliance, a solid understanding of the fintech landscape, and demonstrated experience advising on consumer-facing products within complex regulatory environments.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with the Product teams to optimize Affirm's offerings by identifying and mitigating compliance risks without compromising business objectives.
Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure they comply with regulations and industry standards.
Partner cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Product to complete reviews and address root causes of compliance issues.
Develop and maintain compliance training and reference materials.
Operate in a fast-paced environment while delivering detailed and diligent work.
Support the completion of the compliance risk assessment and control inventory, including collecting and documenting results.
Serve as an expert on regulatory compliance, especially as it applies to new and revised financial products and services.
What We Look For
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (compliance certifications a plus)
5+ years of experience in a compliance product advisory role within financial services
Experience supporting or advising on products subject to TILA (Reg. Z) and/or EFTA (Reg. E) (e.g., credit cards, payments, or deposit-like products)
Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and making risk-based decisions with incomplete information
Experience advising revenue-generating stakeholder groups, ideally including Product and Engineering teams
A strong interest in fintech and consumer financial protections
Working knowledge of consumer financial laws and regulations, including UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, TILA (Reg. Z), ECOA (Reg. B), EFTA (Reg. E), and TISA (Reg. DD)
Inquisitive and proactive in identifying problems, proposing creative solutions, and adapting in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work in a self-directed environment with strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, and operate effectively with minimal guidance
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex and nuanced issues

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $130,000 - $170,000

Position Summary
We are seeking a Regulatory Strategist – CMC to support global regulatory strategy and execution across the product lifecycle. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing CMC regulatory strategies, preparing and reviewing high-quality regulatory submissions, and supporting post-approval activities for U.S. FDA and Health Canada. The ideal candidate brings strong technical CMC knowledge, hands-on submission experience, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with CMC, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Strategy & Planning
• Develop and execute CMC regulatory strategies for new product development and product lifecycle management.
• Support regulatory strategy planning and act as a key contributor to dossier planning for global submissions.
• Provide regulatory input on CMC development activities, change management, and post-approval strategies.
Regulatory Submissions (U.S. FDA & Health Canada)
• Support preparation and submission of CMC regulatory documents for new product filings to US FDA and Health Canada.
• Compile, review, and manage Modules 1, 2, and 3 of U.S. regulatory dossiers.
• Review CMC documentation and perform DMF assessments, including coordination with DMF holders as needed.
Post-Approval Activities
• Manage post-approval submissions to US FDA, including:
o Major and Moderate CMC amendments
o Administrative amendments
o DMF amendments
o Annual Reports
• Lead and coordinate timely responses to FDA Information Requests (IRs) and Complete Response Letters (CRLs).
• Support post-approval submissions to Health Canada, including compilation and submission of Annual Notifications and Supplements.
Change Control & Compliance
• Assess and manage Global Change Controls (GCCs) to determine regulatory impact and required filings.
• Support preparation and review of Annual Product Reports (APRs).
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines, policies, and global CMC requirements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in CMC regulatory affairs within pharmaceutical, biotech, or CDMO environments.
• Hands-on experience with U.S. FDA and Health Canada CMC submissions across the product lifecycle.
• Strong working knowledge of ICH guidelines, FDA regulations, and Health Canada requirements.
• Experience compiling and reviewing Modules 1–3 and working with Drug Master Files (DMFs).
• Proven ability to manage multiple submissions and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
