Affirm's primary business is lending, and the Loans Lifecycle domain is responsible for maintaining the system of record for all loans at Affirm. As we scale into new geographies, products, and funding structures, the complexity and criticality of this domain continues to grow. We are seeking to hire a Director to lead the Loans Lifecycle engineering organization, spanning the Loans Platform, Ledger Engineering, and Financial Reporting teams.
Set the vision and drive execution for the Loans Lifecycle engineering organization at Affirm, encompassing Loans Platform, Ledger Engineering, and Financial Reporting.
Take ownership of core engineering and business outcomes across the domain, including the loan system of record, ledger pipelines, and financial data delivery to accounting systems.
Define and execute the technical roadmap for service-oriented decomposition, platform scalability, and database architecture evolution to support Affirm's growing loan volume across multiple geographies.
Partner with Accounting, Finance, Capital Markets, Product, and Compliance to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance across all loan products.
Balance product expansion efforts — including international launches, new loan types, and card-related capabilities — with foundational platform investments in reliability, correctness, speed, and operational efficiency.
Drive operational excellence across large-scale batch pipelines and online services, establishing robust incident response, pipeline SLA management, and reconciliation processes.
Run a robust development lifecycle, including continuing agentic adoption and acceleration, while improving a culture of operational excellence.
Hire, develop, and retain a high-performing, globally distributed engineering team across multiple sub-teams and technical disciplines.
15+ years of relevant experience in software engineering.
3+ years managing managers with a track record of high quality manager development.
Experience leading multiple engineering teams spanning backend services and big data/batch pipelines.
Successful track record driving key outcomes that drive the company's success.
Comfortable partnering across disciplines and influencing across a wide variety of leaders.
Experience hiring, growing, and retaining talent.
Strong technical depth in distributed systems, data-intensive applications, and database architecture at scale.
Has domain knowledge in financial systems, lending, accounting, or fintech. Great to have — if you've worked on ledger systems, loan origination and servicing, or financial reconciliation in a lending context.
This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Life360 is hiring an AI-Native Backend Focused Engineer — a senior engineer who doesn’t just use AI tools, but thinks natively in them. You’ll be central to how the Foundry team builds its products, develops its ecosystem tooling, and how we use AI for development in the future.
You’ll design and build features and systems to help grow Life360s partner ecosystem, helping take our platform from zero to one - building out auth, system proxying, alerting and monitoring, everything.
You’ll build and evolve our modern AI-Native engineering workflows — from how we write code, to how we run standups, to how we think about team velocity. You’ll evolve the standard others follow.
For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $129,000 to $192,000 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is 149,500 to 177,500 CAD.

The Messaging team owns the backbone of Life360's real-time infrastructure — the event streaming and data pipelines that keep millions of families connected. We process billions of events every day across location updates, safety alerts, and the push notifications that make the product feel instant.
We are a small, platform-focused, AI-native team. AI isn't a productivity add-on here — it's how we work. Every engineer on the team directs AI agents as a core part of their daily loop: scaffolding services, drafting Terraform, exploring unfamiliar codebases, writing migration scripts, and reviewing diffs. We move faster and go deeper on hard distributed systems problems because we've built the habits, prompts, and guardrails to make agentic work reliable.
Current initiatives include the MSK-to-Confluent Cloud migration, organization-wide schema registry and Protobuf governance, and the next generation of Life360's streaming services. Our stack is Kafka and Kafka Streams, Spring Boot (Java 21), Go, Protobuf/gRPC, Terraform, and AWS.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who has already made AI a first-class collaborator in their work. You'll design streaming services, write and review code, own production incidents, and ship infrastructure — and you'll do all of it with agents running in parallel alongside you. We're looking for an engineer who already decomposes work into agentic workflows, critiques agent output with real technical authority, and ships production code faster because of it.
You'll help shape the team's technical direction on Kafka-first streaming infrastructure and the next phase of our high-availability roadmap. You'll also help evolve how the team itself works with AI — the prompts, the evals, the review patterns, the escape hatches when agents go sideways.
For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $148,000 to $216,500 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range is 171,500 to $201,000 CAD.

We build enterprise software that helps organizations optimize sales performance, enabling go-to-market agility. Our engineering organization includes multiple product application teams responsible for delivering core customer-facing capabilities. We are seeking Staff Backend Engineers to join our application teams. You’ll work alongside other staff, senior, and early-career engineers to define, evolve, and scale the systems that power enterprise-grade product workflows. This is an opportunity to influence both technical direction and product direction. We are low on meetings, high on accountability. Most of the team are in EST time zone but we have a few located in AST, PST and Central as well.
You will play a critical role in the continued evolution of our application stack. You will lead development efforts for complex backend capabilities and serve as a technical example in system design, code quality, and long-term maintainability. You’ll operate at the intersection of data modelling, business logic, and enterprise scale reliability.
As a Staff Engineer, you are expected to operate with a high degree of ownership and trust. This includes proactively identifying architectural risks, surfacing edge cases or constraints others may not see, and advocating for improvements that strengthen the long-term integrity of the system. We value engineers who bring forward thoughtful perspectives - even when they challenge assumptions - and who help the team see around corners.

Staff Software Engineer (Product)
We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer (Product) to help shape the technical evolution of our product. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on building high-quality product systems, making sound technical decisions, and supporting other engineers through collaboration and example.

Working closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and backend engineers, you’ll play an important role in enabling the newest technologies and experiences as we scale and evolve. You will build robust frameworks & features. You will accelerate velocity for one of the world’s largest public cloud workloads. You will empower both developers and Pinners alike. You’ll have the opportunity to find creative solutions to thought-provoking problems.
