About AppDirect
Become a digital, global citizen and enable the new generation of digital entrepreneurs around the world. AppDirect offers a subscription commerce platform to sell any product, through any channel, on any device - as a service. We power millions of subscriptions worldwide for organizations. We do this by our values-driven culture—one that enables you to Be Seen, Be Yourself, and Do Your Best Work.
About You
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Tax to build, lead, and scale our global tax function. This role will be responsible for establishing best-in-class tax processes, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions, and providing proactive guidance on indirect tax matters.
You are a seasoned tax leader with deep expertise in indirect taxation — particularly HST/GST/QST and U.S. sales and use tax — and you know how to build a function, not just run one. You've operated in multinational or high-growth environments and are equally comfortable advising the CFO on a complex M&A structure as you are rolling up your sleeves to get a filing done right. You bring sharp technical knowledge of tax compliance, audit management, and ERP systems, and you know how to translate tax risk into plain language for non-tax stakeholders. Your communication skills matter here because you'll be the primary voice on all tax matters to senior leadership — clarity and credibility are non-negotiable. You thrive in environments where the playbook is still being written, because you're the one writing it.
What you'll do and how you'll have an impact
What we're looking for
At AppDirect, we believe that innovation thrives in an environment that houses diversity of excellence, experience and thought. We respect each AppDirector as their own fingerprint; unique with no one alike. As such, we strongly encourage applications from Indigenous peoples, racialized people, people with disabilities, people from gender and sexually diverse communities, and/or people with intersectional identities.

Visier is the global leader in Workforce Intelligence that powers every people decision. We bring Workforce AI to life for HR departments through our award-winning, agentic AI technology by surfacing the insights leaders need to plan, decide, and act with confidence in the moments that matter most. As the market leader in people analytics, workforce planning, organizational design, and manager effectiveness solutions, we fuel smarter decision-making for organizations across the globe. Our mission is to help businesses lead with insight at scale as they continuously transform.
Founded in 2010 by the pioneers of business intelligence, we have over 85,000 customers in 75 countries—including enterprises like BASF, Panasonic, Domino’s Pizza, Experian, Amgen, eBay, and Ford Motor Company.
The Moment We're In
Visier is at an inflection point. We have a category-leading product, a global customer base, and a growth trajectory that creates real opportunities to accelerate through acquisition. We are building a corporate development function that can identify, evaluate, and execute against those opportunities - and we are looking for the person who will do that work.
This is not a role that was created to have a role. There is a concrete mandate: find the right acquisition targets, build the analytical case, run a rigorous process, and help close deals that make Visier stronger. The work is real, the stakes are real, and the CFO you will work with has both the experience and the appetite to move.
What You'll Do
Build and own the acquisition pipeline. You will define the market map, identify target companies, develop relationships with founders and advisors, and work with external bankers to ensure we are seeing the right opportunities at the right time. You are not waiting for deals to come to you - you are building the system that surfaces them.
Do the financial work. You will build the models - DCF, comparables, precedent transactions, accretion/dilution, scenario analysis. You will stress-test assumptions, pressure-test valuations, and translate complex financial analysis into clear, defensible conclusions. The quality of the analysis is your responsibility.
Run diligence. You will coordinate end-to-end due diligence across financial, commercial, legal, and technical workstreams. You know what you're looking for, you know what a red flag looks like, and you know how to keep a process moving without cutting corners.
Prepare materials that drive decisions. You will write investment memos, opportunity assessments, and deal summaries for the CFO, CEO, and board. The materials you produce need to be clear, rigorous, and opinionated - not a data dump, but a point of view.
Support execution through close. You will be embedded in deal negotiation and transaction execution, working alongside legal, finance, and external advisors to get transactions across the line. You will also support integration planning so that what we buy actually delivers what the model said it would.
Track the market. You will stay close to the competitive landscape, M&A activity, and valuation dynamics in the workforce analytics and HR technology space so that Visier is always operating with current intelligence.
Who You Are
You came up through a deal environment. Whether that was investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or in-house corporate development, you have spent meaningful time executing real transactions - not advising on them from a distance, not doing research in support of someone else’s process, but actually in the work. You know what it feels like when a deal is moving well and when it isn’t.
You are analytically rigorous and intellectually honest. You build models that hold up, you find the issues in someone else’s model before they become problems, and you have the confidence to say when the numbers don’t support the thesis - even when people want them to. You are skeptical of received wisdom and comfortable defending a view.
You operate with ownership. You do not wait to be directed. You figure out what needs to happen next and you make it happen. You are comfortable with ambiguity, you manage your own workload without hand-holding, and when something falls through the cracks, you treat that as your failure to fix, not someone else’s.
You communicate clearly and work well with senior people. You write well. You present crisply. You can hold a conversation with a CFO, a CEO, or a founder without losing credibility - not because you perform confidence, but because you actually know what you’re talking about.
You are here to do the work, not to be seen doing it. We are a data-driven, substance-first organization. The right candidate is drawn to this role because of the quality of the mandate and the caliber of the people they will work with - not because it offers a platform or a title.
What We're Looking For
A Note on Fit
Visier is a cerebral, substance-first organization. We value intellectual rigor, directness, and the kind of confidence that doesn’t need to announce itself. We are a company that sells workforce intelligence - we hold our own people decisions to the same standard as the product.
This role will suit someone who wants to do genuinely hard, consequential work - someone who finds the analytical and commercial complexity of M&A intrinsically interesting, not just professionally useful. If you are looking for a high-visibility platform or a stepping stone to something more senior, this is probably not the right fit. If you are looking for a place where the quality of your thinking will matter more than your title, it might be exactly right.
Visier is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
🌱 Most importantly, you share our values…
🚀 How we work & what we offer...
Benefits and working arrangements may vary depending on your seniority, location and employment type. The compensation offered will be determined by factors such as relevant qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. Many of our positions are eligible for additional types of compensation (e.g., commission plans, bonus, etc.) which our Talent Acquisition team will share with you if you interview for the role.

We are looking for a business-oriented leader to architect and own the financial operating model for our entire cloud infrastructure. This isn't a reporting role; you are the single-threaded owner responsible for optimizing one of the company's largest technology investments. Your mission is to transform our cloud spend from a complex cost center into a predictable, efficient engine for innovation. You will report to senior leadership and be empowered to support the negotiation of multi-million dollar contracts, drive cultural change across engineering, and provide the financial clarity required for strategic business decisions.
You are a seasoned leader who operates at the intersection of technology and finance. You are just as comfortable debating architectural trade-offs with a principal engineer as you are presenting a business case to a CFO. You are a strong team player who loves to share knowledge, enable others, and provide and receive feedback.
Let’s cut to the cheese, this is why you'll love it here

About the Job
Do you get excited when a messy, ambiguous business problem finally yields to the right model? Do you think in systems, speak fluently across the technical-business divide, and want your work to do more than sit in a notebook — you want it to actually ship, scale, and matter?
With over 2,000 employees, 36 offices on five continents, and world-class clients like Samsung, L'Oréal, and Mattel, Artefact is a consulting firm that transforms data into measurable value and business impact. We're growing our Canadian presence and want you to join us as a technical cornerstone of our founding team in Canada.
Who We Are
Founded and headquartered in Paris, Artefact is a next-generation consulting firm specializing in data, analytics, and AI consulting — dedicated to transforming data into business impact across the entire value chain of organizations. We don't just advise; we build, implement, and deliver results our clients can measure.
We have 2,000 employees across 36 offices focused on accelerating digital transformation for some of the world's most recognizable brands. Our state-of-the-art data technologies, lean AI agile methodologies, and cohesive teams of elite business consultants, data analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and digital experts are all laser-focused on delivering real value to every client. We design data-driven solutions tailored to each client's specific needs — always conceived with a business-first mindset and delivered with tangible, measurable results. Our expertise is built on deep AI knowledge acquired through 1,000+ client engagements across the globe.
Find out more at artefact.com.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll be the technical engine behind some of our most complex and consequential client engagements in Canada. You'll move fluidly between data exploration, model development, and executive communication — bringing scientific rigor to business problems and translating results into strategies that clients actually implement.
This isn't a role where you hand off findings and walk away. You'll be embedded with clients across Canada's most dynamic sectors — financial services, retail, CPG, telecoms, media, and the public sector — co-owning outcomes and ensuring that the models you build don't just perform in a test environment, they create real, lasting impact in production. You'll also be a technical anchor for our Canadian team, setting standards, mentoring junior data scientists, and contributing to the methodologies that define Artefact's edge in this market.
Key responsibilities include:
What We Are Looking For
We want someone who is as comfortable whiteboarding a modeling strategy with a client's Chief Analytics Officer as they are debugging a pipeline before a critical delivery. You've shipped models that people actually use. You've sat in rooms where the business stakes were real, and you've delivered. You know the difference between a technically elegant solution and a practically useful one — and you always choose useful.
You'll arrive ready with the following:
Why You Should Join Us
At this level, you're not just looking for a job — you're looking for the right environment to do your best work. Here's what makes Artefact different:
Variety that keeps you sharp. In a product role, you go deep on one problem. Here, you'll work across Canada's most dynamic industries and business functions — building the kind of range that makes exceptional data scientists truly exceptional. No two engagements are the same.
Your work actually ships. We have a relentless focus on adoption and impact. The models you build are designed from day one to live in production, influence decisions, and create measurable value — not to gather dust in a final report.
A global technical community, with local roots. With 2,000 data and AI specialists across 36 offices worldwide, you'll have access to some of the most sophisticated data science thinking on the planet — while building something meaningful right here in Canada. You'll bring global best practices to the Canadian market and contribute Canadian insights back to the world.
Founding team energy. We're building our Canadian practice, which means the standards, culture, and technical identity you help create now will define Artefact in this market for years to come. That's a rare opportunity at any stage of a career.
We are united by our values and strengthened by our hybrid expertise:
There is always a way — We're builders, diggers, and makers. Ideas only count if they get executed.
Client trust is won in the field — We show up where it matters, working side by side with our clients to solve what's real.
If not used, it is useless — We build for adoption and impact. True brilliance is measured by what changes, not what's delivered.
If not shared, our work is not done — Sharing knowledge is how we close the loop — for our clients and for each other.
We learn every day — In a field moving at the speed of light, intellectual curiosity isn't optional. It's survival.

We're scaling rapidly and have a growing pipeline of opportunities that demand exceptional talent across disciplines. Our mission is to bring on individuals, from creative producers to technical experts to entrepreneurial leaders, who can help us realize this next chapter of growth.
We are a company of doers. Leaders roll up their sleeves, teams work flat, and everyone contributes to what ships. Titles don't insulate us from feedback or basics. We invite critique, learn quickly, and keep raising the bar. The best ideas win here, no matter where they come from, because clients trust us to deliver the strongest outcomes every time.
Our clients' missions, products, and bottom lines are sacred. We immerse ourselves in their world, becoming stewards of their goals and partners in solving big problems. Every product, strategy, or asset we create must be both beautiful and functional; practical, usable, and designed for real-world impact.
Humans are our most valuable resource, and we only grow by hiring people who push us forward. Across strategy, engineering, design, data, and operations, we seek out teammates who raise the bar and make us better. Always hire up, never down.
We partner with organizations of all sizes to explore, design, and implement AI strategies that are secure, scalable, and human-centered. We believe AI should amplify human potential, not replace it, and we build with that conviction in every engagement. From advisory and tooling to implementation and education, we meet clients where they are and help them integrate AI in ways that align with their mission and values. Our goal is to empower teams to work smarter, move faster, and unlock new possibilities through thoughtful, responsible innovation.
And through it all, we lead with purpose, love, and adventure. We do meaningful work with people we care about, and we make the ride an adventure worth taking. Because at Human Agency, who we are and how we work are one and the same.
This is not a traditional enterprise CISO role where you inherit a legacy infrastructure, manage a large team, and maintain the status quo. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial builder role. You are joining at the frontier of AI security — designing systems that don't yet exist, solving problems the industry is only beginning to name, and treating security not as a cost center but as a strategic and commercial advantage.
We're deploying AI agents at scale across client environments, building our own AI-powered tools, and advising organizations on how to safely integrate autonomous systems into mission-critical workflows. That creates a unique security mandate: you must secure our internal operations, embed security directly into the AI products we build, and help clients deploy agents safely in regulated, high-stakes environments. You are architect, operator, and evangelist all at once.
You'll have the rare opportunity to shape how an entire category of technology gets secured. We're not asking you to retrofit old playbooks onto new problems — we're asking you to write the playbook. If you've been looking for a role where security is core to the product, where you can build things that matter, and where your work influences the broader conversation around AI safety and governance, this is it.
Define and execute our security strategy from the ground up. You'll architect our internal security posture across infrastructure, data, and AI systems, establish governance models for how we deploy agents safely, and ensure we're prepared for compliance frameworks like SOC 2, ISO, and potentially FedRAMP as we scale into enterprise and government clients.
Build security into AI agent systems as a first-class product feature. You'll design guardrails, monitoring, and policy enforcement for autonomous agents — ensuring they operate within defined boundaries, audit their own actions, and surface anomalies in real time. This isn't theoretical; you'll implement these systems in production environments where they directly impact client outcomes.
Develop and potentially commercialize security products. The security tooling you build internally may become standalone offerings. You'll have the latitude to identify what's missing in the market, prototype solutions, and work with our product and engineering teams to turn internal infrastructure into revenue-generating products.
Lead incident response, threat modeling, and adversarial testing. You'll build and run red team exercises against our AI systems, model attack vectors that don't yet have names, and develop response frameworks for risks unique to agentic AI — things like prompt injection at scale, model extraction, or adversarial manipulation of agent behavior.
Serve as the public face of AI security for Human Agency. You'll represent us in client conversations, partner discussions, and industry forums. You'll publish, speak, and help shape the broader conversation around AI risk, alignment, and governance. If the industry doesn't yet have consensus on how to secure a given AI capability, you'll be one of the people defining it.
Deploy and operate security infrastructure hands-on. You'll implement zero-trust architectures, secure multi-agent systems, deploy monitoring and detection tools, and build secure data pipelines. This is not a role where you delegate all technical work — you write code, you configure systems, you debug in production when necessary.
Human Agency is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to building inclusive, high-performing teams where everyone can do their best work.
