About the Team
The Advanced Development organisation pushes beyond the boundaries of product lines to build new things. We think independently of standard shipping cadences and timelines, working on foundational technologies that will impact every Roku device in the future, and on ideas that no one has seen before in their living room. As this is an exceptional team, we are seeking unusual talent. As part of Advanced Development, the Developer Experience team specifically focuses on driving internal changes in tooling to improve developer satisfaction and productivity. The team listens to their customers, determines the most impactful opportunities and executes on delivering those changes. The team works technologies including modern Linux embedded C++, build systems, cloud backend systems, and web platforms.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with an interest in driving our platform emulation product forward. You will be working on a software PAL version of the Roku OS which represents real hardware but facilities wider scale testing accessed via cloud hosting and web/API for internal users and Roku Partner development teams.
This is a very diverse role with exciting challenges and opportunities. One day you might be doing video decoding, or audio distribution, or tweaking docker, or testing app development or build tasks or cloud integration, or security or a ton of other things. Every day is going to be a different problem and an opportunity to really learn about a lot of new tech and help design the infrastructure of a pretty complex system.
What You’ll be doing
- Focus on the Native Build of Roku OS, which operates without physical hardware - drive forward the development and continue to keep the platform current and meeting the needs of internal and external users - covers both hand-on development and working with other teams to support them.
- Solve design problems in embedded software, application SDKs, networking, graphics, UIs, media and other areas across Advanced Engineering, always with an eye on the resource constraints of our players and TVs
- Write efficient software that can be easily ported to new or existing platforms
- Demonstrate excellence in C++ development and deliver high-performance, ultra-reliable software
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.
We’re excited if you have
- 10+ years in software development, architecture, and API design
- 5+ years Linux systems programming
- Excellent modern C++ programming skills
- An understanding of compilers and how code changes will impact resources and performance
- Proven track record of success developing software to operate within tight CPU, RAM, and storage constraints
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment using agile processes.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

About The Role
As a Senior Security Engineer on the Trust Cloud team, your role involves evaluating, architecting, designing, and implementing end-to-end security controls to impact the global user base. A key focus is on developing automated, scalable security solutions to enhance efficiency and protect Roku. Senior Engineer, AI & Automation Cambridge, MA (Hybrid)
Position Summary:
Flagship Pioneering is building the infrastructure and engineering foundation to make AI a force multiplier across the company. This role sits within IT's Digital Platforms team and operates at the intersection of AI infrastructure, automation engineering, and enterprise use case delivery. You'll work directly with the Enterprise AI team and Digital Platforms to productionize AI capabilities at scale, including MCP (Model Context Protocol) builds and integrations, agentic tooling, and cross-functional automation pipelines.
This is a high-ownership, hands-on engineering role. You will own the build and deployment of AI-powered workflows and systems across business functions, from intake through production. You'll also help establish the platform and tooling foundations that enable the broader organization to operate AI responsibly and at speed.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and deploy AI use cases across Flagship business functions, including finance, legal, HR, research, and operations
- Maintain AI infrastructure and automation platforms: MCP server builds and integrations, agentic frameworks, LLM (Large Language Model) orchestration, and low-code/no-code tooling (e.g., Zapier, Workato)
- Partner with the Enterprise AI Lead to scope and accelerate the AI use case portfolio, moving requests from triage to production
- Build and maintain integrations between AI tools and enterprise systems (Coupa, NetSuite, Slack, M365, and others)
- Establish MLOps platform to establish deployment, observability and feedback loops for deployed AI workflows: usage monitoring, output quality tracking, and prompt iteration cycles
- Support evaluation and implementation of AI-enabled SaaS tools, including proof-of-concept builds and vendor assessments
- Contribute to AI governance infrastructure: usage monitoring, ZDR (Zero Data Retention) compliance checks, sandbox governance, and documentation
- Collaborate with Information Security on AI security posture, including data exposure risk, agentic workflow guardrails, and shadow AI detection
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of technical delivery experience
- At least 4 years of software (python preferred) and automation engineering experience, with experience building and shipping LLM-based systems to production
- At least 2 years' experience with cloud first architectures (AWS preferred)
- At least 2 years' experience building and launching applications and solutions using standard DevOps and MLOps tools.
- Hands-on development experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar) including prompt engineering, tool use, and multi-step agentic workflows
- Building experience with MCP and other agentic tool frameworks
- Familiarity with maintaining RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) architectures, vector databases, and document ingestion pipelines
- Working knowledge of enterprise systems including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems), and experience with enterprise automation platforms (Zapier, Workato, Make, or equivalent)
- Ability to build integrations across SaaS systems using APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architecture
- Strong judgment about when to build vs. buy, and how to scope an MVP vs. a production system
- Able to identify high-leverage automation opportunities independently and push back on low-impact requests with clear reasoning
- Clear communicator who can work directly with non-technical business stakeholders to translate requirements into scoped deliverables
Nice to Have
- Background in life sciences, biotech, or research-adjacent environments
- Experience building function alongside delivery in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment

The salary range for this role is $128,000 - $176,000. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. The Cloud Automation Engineer designs, builds, and operates automation-first cloud infrastructure platforms using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD, and serverless automation. The role enables secure, repeatable, and resilient cloud environments through standardized automation, self-service capabilities, and codified governance primarily in Microsoft Azure, with tertiary exposure to AWS.
This role partners closely with Cloud Platform Engineering, Security, Network, and Operations teams to ensure all automation solutions are secure-by-design, private-network-first, and resilient by default, including full lifecycle support for business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) implemented through IaC.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

What We're Looking For:

Position Summary
We are seeking a Contracts System Manager to serve as the primary owner and administrator of Flagship's Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and procurement systems. This individual will be responsible for system configuration, optimization, user support, training, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the Legal, Procurement, and Finance teams can efficiently manage contracts across Flagship and its portfolio companies. The role requires significant interpersonal engagement—building trusted relationships across business units, influencing stakeholders to adopt new processes, and exercising judgment in navigating competing priorities that require human insight and contextual understanding.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience administering CLM platforms (Cobblestone experience strongly preferred), a solid understanding of procurement workflows, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical system configurations. Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Configuration
- Serve as the primary administrator for Flagship's CLM system (Cobblestone), including system configuration, user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and permissions management
- Design and configure contract workflows, approval routing logic, and dynamic intake forms based on agreement type, spend thresholds, department, or legal requirements—collaborating directly with business owners to understand their operational needs and secure buy-in on workflow changes
- Manage the company's contract templates, playbook terms, and clause libraries; configure new templates and process workflows as needed
- Maintain repository accuracy, metadata tagging, and taxonomy; identify inefficiencies in current processes and propose workflow design improvements
Integration & Technical Operations
- Oversee and troubleshoot API connections and data syncs between the CLM system and downstream systems (e.g., ERP, procurement platforms, HRIS, e-signature tools)
- Coordinate with IT on system integrations, security protocols, and technical requirements; serve as a trusted liaison between business functions, IT, and CLM vendor, translating technical constraints into business-friendly explanations and advocating for user needs in system design decisions
- Test and deploy system updates, patches, and new features from vendors; manage change control to minimize disruption to business users
- Configure and maintain vendor management modules, ensuring seamless data capture and risk assessment during vendor onboarding
User Support & Training
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for CLM system users, including day-to-day troubleshooting, resolving workflow stalls, and addressing error messages
- Onboard and train new users (both technical and non-technical) on CLM system functionality and related processes through hands-on coaching, live demonstrations, and personalized support; implement train-the-trainer models and adapt training approaches based on individual learning styles and departmental needs
- Develop and maintain CLM training materials, user guides, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); gather user feedback and recommend process improvements
- Support onboarding of new Flagship portfolio companies onto established contract standards and CLM processes, serving as a dedicated point of contact who builds rapport with new teams, addresses concerns with empathy, and guides stakeholders through change management during organizational transitions
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison between IT and Finance, Legal, and Procurement teams, translating business processes into technical system requirements

Reporting & Analytics
- Build dashboards and generate contract metrics to inform Legal leadership and cross-functional stakeholders; analyze trends and provide recommendations to improve contract operations efficiency, presenting findings in stakeholder meetings and facilitating discussions to drive consensus on operational improvements
- Conduct regular system audits to monitor data integrity, system health, and key performance metrics (e.g., approval cycle times, contract turnaround)

Compliance & Process Improvement
- Participate in assessing, refining, and executing on future business requirements for the CLM system; contribute to template and playbook updates based on recurring issues and counterparty redline patterns
- Support compliance with life sciences regulatory requirements (FDA, GxP where applicable) by ensuring contract workflows and documentation meet audit and traceability standards
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and user adoption across the contracting process
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Legal Studies, or related discipline
- 3–5 years of experience as a CLM systems administrator, legal operations specialist, or similar role

About the Role
Flagship's GRC program has matured from build to operate. We have a functioning GRC system of record in Jira, active compliance tracks across HITRUST, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, and SOC 2, and a TPRM workflow in production. What we need now is a hands-on practitioner who can execute against that infrastructure — someone who is as comfortable running a vendor risk assessment in Jira as they are prepping evidence packages for an audit. This is not a policy-writing or director-level role. It is a technical execution role for someone who gets things done.
What You'll Do
- Own day-to-day execution of the GRC system of record in Jira — maintaining control records, updating compliance status, logging implementation and auditor notes, and keeping the SOR current across all active frameworks
- Run TPRM assessments end-to-end: intake, questionnaire review, risk scoring, CISO decision documentation, and post-approval tracking
- Coordinate audit evidence collection and control testing activities across HITRUST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST 800-171 frameworks, working directly with the external audit firm
- Maintain the compliance calendar and drive sprint-by-sprint execution against framework deadlines
- Manage sub-processor and DPA tracking for portfolio company privacy programs, including gap identification and remediation follow-up
- Support DSR and privacy program operations, including data inventory maintenance and deletion workflow tracking
- Build and maintain GRC automation using AI tools (Claude, Jira automation, Zapier) to reduce manual burden on recurring compliance tasks
- Produce clear, accurate reporting on compliance posture for the CISO and cross-functional stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- 3–6 years of hands-on GRC experience, ideally in a fast-moving tech or life sciences environment
- Direct experience working in Jira as a compliance or GRC tool — not just a project management tool; you should understand issue types, custom fields, bulk operations, and reporting
- Working knowledge of at least two of: HITRUST CSF, ISO 27001, NIST 800-171/CMMC, SOC 2, HIPAA
- Experience running vendor risk assessments — intake to decision — not just filling out questionnaires

As a Principal Security Engineer focused on AI Security, you will define and drive the technical strategy for securing how AI is used across Lila's enterprise. About the Role
The Information Security team has strong detection and response capability and a maturing compliance program. This is a greenfield opportunity to build Flagship’s cloud security and application security engineering practice in earnest — with the CISO and Director of Security Engineering as your strategic partners and a well-resourced program behind you. You’ll define how cloud posture management, SSDLC security, and cloud-side DLP get done at Flagship — in deep partnership with the Infrastructure & Operations team, who are your primary counterparts for cloud architecture, network, and endpoint infrastructure. What makes this role distinctive is the expectation that you’ll build AI-augmented workflows from the start — using LLMs and agentic tooling to handle the routine 80% so your expertise stays focused on the 20% that actually requires human judgment. If you want to own a practice area rather than execute someone else’s playbook, this is that role. You'll own the technical execution of cloud security and AppSec across Flagship and its portfolio, working directly with engineering teams to embed security into their pipelines, not just review them after the fact.
What You'll Own
- Cloud security posture management: own remediation execution against Wiz findings in close partnership with Infrastructure & Operations — building shared remediation playbooks, coordinating finding resolution across AWS environments, and ensuring security controls are implemented consistently with I&O’s infrastructure standards
- CI/CD and SSDLC security: design and implement security guardrails in engineering pipelines — SAST, secrets scanning, IaC security, container scanning — working directly with portfolio engineering teams, and building AI-powered pipeline security automation (e.g., LLM-assisted code review, automated fix suggestions for SAST findings) that reduces developer friction and scales security coverage beyond what manual review allows
- Cloud-side DLP enforcement: build and operationalize data loss prevention controls at the cloud and application layer, not just policy definition
- Cloud identity and access: own technical execution on Entra/Azure AD conditional access, BYOD policy enforcement, and cloud identity governance in partnership with Infrastructure & Operations, who manage the underlying directory and endpoint infrastructure
- Detection engineering (cloud layer): write and tune cloud-side detection rules and contribute to alert fidelity improvements in partnership with the SOC
- AI platform security: contribute to security architecture reviews and guardrail design for AI-powered portfolio products, including Bedrock and EKS-based platforms
- Serve as the embedded security engineering partner for portfolio company engineering teams — not a reviewer at the end of the process, but a collaborator throughout it

What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in cloud security, application security, or a closely related security engineering discipline
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS security services (Security Hub, GuardDuty, IAM, SCPs, CloudTrail) and cloud posture tooling — Wiz experience strongly preferred
- Practical AppSec experience: you've integrated SAST/DAST/SCA tooling into CI/CD pipelines and worked directly with developers to resolve findings, not just filed tickets
- Experience with cloud identity platforms — Entra ID / Azure AD, including conditional access policy design and enforcement
- Ability to write infrastructure-as-code and scripting to automate security controls (Python, Terraform, or equivalent), including comfort working with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and agentic orchestration frameworks

Key Responsibilities
SharePoint Administration & Knowledge Management
- Administer, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online environment, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

Analytics Enablement & Data Integrity
- Partner closely with the People Analytics Manager to ensure HR systems are structured to support reliable reporting, meaningful analytics, and consistent data definitions.

Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Commercial Ownership
- Own and exceed annual bookings and revenue targets for FL109’s commercial offerings.
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline from prospecting through close, leveraging CRM data to ensure forecast accuracy.
- Hold pricing and commercial terms authority within defined guardrails; manage forecasts and deal reviews with leadership.
- Negotiate and structure agreements that create long-term value for customers and for FL109.

Customer Acquisition & Partnership Development

Customer Insight & Market Feedback

Commercial Infrastructure
- Partner with a part-time CRM consultant to finalize implementation, ensure data integrity, and establish effective reporting.
- Own the commercial use and adoption of the CRM system to drive visibility, forecasting accuracy, and pipeline health.
- Define and track key growth metrics and reporting cadence for leadership review.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the Client Project Manager to ensure seamless delivery and high customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to pricing, go-to-market, and commercial strategy discussions.
- Work within established templates and tools for contracting, security documentation, and proposal development, with support from internal and external resources as needed.
- Serve as the internal advocate for customer success and external excellence.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in commercial, BD, or sales leadership within life sciences, platform technologies, or capital equipment markets.
- Proven record of achieving or exceeding multi-million-dollar sales targets in complex technical environments.
- Experience leading cross-functional commercial efforts in a matrixed organization.
- Deep understanding of cryo-EM or adjacent analytical technologies preferred.

Performance Management, Metrics, and Executive Reporting
- Define, monitor, and report ITSM KPIs and KRIs across all ITSM capabilities.

The expected base salary range for this position is $118,500 - $168,500. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. Some of the recent projects that data and analytics engineers at Philo have worked on include building new models for key financial data, dbt model design, data warehouse cluster upgrades and maintenance, per-query infra cost optimization, implementation of Apache Iceberg data storage, benchmarking & improving data warehouse performance, and evaluating alternative data warehouse technologies.
The Role
We're seeking a senior technical and foundational leader to own and drive the vision, strategy, and execution of our Data Engineering team, encompassing both the data engineering and analytics engineering functions at Philo. This is a strategic and high-impact role: you'll set the long-term direction for our entire data platform, lead and grow a team of data and analytics engineers, and roll up your sleeves to architect and build alongside them. The ideal candidate has owned both disciplines before — data infrastructure and analytics engineering — and brings strong opinions on how to structure a high-velocity, high-trust data organization.
Responsibilities:
- Own the vision and technical strategy for data engineering and analytics engineering at Philo, setting the direction for how data is ingested, modeled, and delivered across the organization
- Own the team’s roadmap, balancing strategic long-term investments with near-term stakeholder needs
- Lead and grow the Data Engineering team, including hiring, career development, performance management, and supporting the team in generally thriving
- Lead the design and implementation of Philo's data platform architecture, including setting technical standards and best practices for data engineering and analytics engineering work
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data platform needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Build and maintain stakeholder trust in data and reporting — ensuring that business teams have reliable, well-documented, and well-understood data products

Lead Backend Software Engineer (Product)
Philo aims to connect customers with their favorite shows, help them discover new favorites, and get them seamlessly into the video player watching their next shows. The Product API team is central to this mission and powers virtually every non-media interaction in our application delivering a personalized experience for millions of users across web, mobile, and connected TV platforms.
The team builds out the Philo show catalog and exposes it via search, ML powered recommendation, and platform integration like search on Roku, FireTV, and tvOS. They provide a robust API to clients platforms to access this catalog along with features needed for a streaming service like saving shows, sending notifications, and running experiments. They do this all while load testing and scaling the system to millions of users and considering security and privacy. A challenge for the team is to support many different clients and the team has built out frameworks, infrastructure, and APIs to enable this. For example, building out a framework on top of GraphQL to dynamically change the home page instantly and across all platforms without any client modification allowing for content curation, user personalization, and all types of home page experimentation.
Engineering leads at Philo lead by example, and are expected to ship features, triage bugs, manage releases, and generally advocate for quality throughout the codebase. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced backend engineer with a deep technical background building scalable APIs, services, and platform infrastructure. You will contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for Product API, drive architecture and reliability with strong observability, coordinate cross-team delivery to unblock new user experiences, and ensure partner integrations land smoothly. You'll model best practices to the team, unblock your teammates when they are stuck, and help ensure platform stability and clarity of contracts as the team delivers multi-quarter outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to members of the Product API team, including input on system architecture and design tradeoffs, as well as coaching other members of the team and mentoring new hires.
- Collaborate with product and client engineering teams to design and deliver GraphQL APIs that enable rich, performant user experiences while maintaining clean separation of concerns and optimal client-server interactions.
- Own and evolve critical product subsystems including recommendations, catalog, search, in-app notifications, user preferences, viewing history, collections, experiments, and feature flags.
- Build and maintain proxy and augmentation layers that integrate domain services from across the organization (such as video infrastructure, recommendations systems, and search) into a cohesive, unified API.
- Drive continuous improvements to the reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability of Philo's product API infrastructure, ensuring sub-second response times and high availability across all endpoints.
- Collaborate with data science and product analytics teams to instrument the API layer for experimentation, A/B testing, and feature rollouts, enabling data-driven product decisions.
- Build and enhance observability tools to proactively monitor API performance, identify bottlenecks, debug issues, and ensure optimal cache utilization across the system.
- Work with infrastructure teams to optimize database queries, implement effective caching strategies, and ensure DataServer scales efficiently as Philo's user base grows.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to other engineers (bonus points for experience or interest in managing engineering teams).
- Strong experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs at scale (bonus points for experience with complex schema design, query optimization, and federation patterns).
- Proven track record of building highly efficient and highly available backend services using NodeJS, Ruby, Golang, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Experience operating in cloud computing environments using modern software deployment technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
- Deep understanding of API design principles, RESTful and GraphQL patterns, caching strategies, and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience working with large amounts of data and making data-based decisions to prioritize projects, including familiarity with relational and non-relational databases and modern data warehousing and querying with SQL.
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to design cohesive API abstractions that cleanly separate concerns while enabling flexibility for diverse client needs.
- Experience building proxy and aggregation layers that integrate multiple backend services into unified APIs.
- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, feature flag systems, and A/B testing infrastructure.
- Experience and aptitude for collaborating and communicating with internal stakeholders across product, design, client platform engineering, and data science teams.
- Understanding of video streaming product ecosystems and the unique challenges of building APIs for multi-platform applications (web, mobile, TV).
- Expertise in either product-facing API development or machine learning systems and model serving infrastructure.
We are language agnostic, but most of our backend code is written in Golang, NodeJS and Ruby, with some C++ and Python. Our services run on Kubernetes, and we practice continuous deployment across all of our systems.
