Codes and Standards Lead, Energy Storage

Redwood Materials is pioneering a sustainable circular economy for lithium-ion batteries by transforming recycled materials into critical inputs for energy storage and next-generation battery technologies. We are seeking a Codes and Standards Lead to represent Redwood across the codes, standards, and regulatory ecosystem impacting energy storage systems. This role is responsible for shaping how emerging technologies are regulated, permitted, and deployed, while enabling safe, scalable innovation in a rapidly evolving industry. 

This position is a senior technical thought-leadership role that operates at the intersection of engineering, compliance, policy, and industry advocacy. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Codes and Standards Leadership and Influence: Lead Redwood’s engagement with codes and standards bodies, trade associations, and industry working groups relevant to energy storage systems. Actively influence the development, interpretation, and adoption of codes and standards to remove unnecessary barriers to deployment while maintaining a high bar for safety.
• Hands-On Standards Development (Near Term): Initially, this role will be highly hands-on, with active participation in code hearings, technical task groups, standards committee meetings, and working sessions. Success in the early phase of the role will be driven by technical credibility, consistent engagement, and substantive contributions across multiple forums.
• Strategic Ownership and Evolution (Long Term): Over time, this role will evolve toward setting strategy for where and how Redwood engages across the codes and standards landscape. This includes determining which forums warrant leadership, where coalition-based engagement is appropriate, and how Redwood’s positions are coordinated across topics and organizations.
• Trade Association and Industry Engagement: Work closely with trade associations, peer companies, utilities, insurers, fire service organizations, and other industry partners to establish best practices, align technical positions, and collaboratively develop new guidance, codes, or standards where none currently exist.
• Thought Leadership and Best Practice Development: Serve as a technical thought leader on energy storage safety and deployment. Contribute to and author technical position papers, white papers, and best-practice guidance, particularly in emerging or ambiguous areas of regulation.
• Cross-Domain Standards Integration: Help orchestrate the evolution of battery safety standards to enable the responsible use of EV traction batteries in energy storage systems. This includes evaluating SAE guidance and FMVSS requirements, identifying transferable safety intent, and drawing clear technical parallels to stationary standards such as UL 1973 and UL 9540 to support defensible regulatory pathways.
• Internal Technical Guidance: Translate evolving codes, standards, and industry guidance into clear technical direction for internal engineering, compliance, manufacturing, and product teams. Provide authoritative interpretations where requirements are incomplete, conflicting, or rapidly evolving.
• Regulatory Foresight and Risk Management:  Monitor upcoming code cycles, regulatory trends, and enforcement practices. Anticipate impacts to product design, manufacturing operations, and deployment strategies, and proactively develop engagement or mitigation approaches. 

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred. 
• 8+ years of experience in energy storage, batteries, power systems, fire protection engineering, or a related technical domain. 
• Demonstrated experience participating in and influencing codes and standards development activities, regulatory working groups, or trade association initiatives. 
• Broad technical understanding of energy storage systems, battery technologies, fire and life safety considerations, and system-level risk. 
• Proven ability to influence without authority and build consensus across diverse stakeholders. 
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, including experience drafting proposals, technical guidance, or position papers. 
• Comfort operating in areas where standards are immature or evolving and technical judgment is required. 
• Ability to represent the company credibly with regulators, AHJs, certification bodies, and senior technical audiences. 
• Passion for shaping the future of energy storage safety and deployment. 

Preferred Experience: 

• Direct participation in codes and standards development activities, including technical committees, task groups, or working groups associated with UL, NFPA, ICC, SAE, IEC, IEEE, or similar organizations. 
• Experience representing a company or industry position in standards meetings, public comment processes, or regulatory forums. 
• Familiarity with energy storage system standards and codes, including UL 9540, UL 1973, UL 1974, NFPA 855, the International Fire Code, and the National Electrical Code. 
• Experience working with trade associations, industry coalitions, or cross-company working groups to establish best practices or consensus guidance. 
• Experience evaluating or applying automotive battery safety frameworks (e.g., SAE documents, FMVSS requirements) and translating safety intent across domains.

Business Operations Analyst, Energy Storage

We're looking for a Business Operations Analyst, Energy Storage, to support the commercial growth of our utility-scale battery energy storage business. You'll be the operational backbone of our sales organization, driving data-informed decision-making, optimizing our sales processes, and enabling cross-functional collaboration to accelerate our market penetration.

Responsibilities will Include:

• Own and optimize our CRM (Hubspot) to ensure data quality, pipeline visibility, and actionable insights for leadership
• Develop sales analytics and reporting frameworks to track KPIs, forecast performance, and identify growth opportunities

What you’ll be doing

• Business partner with the head of retail strategy, the head of Devices Product, and other key leaders to accurately forecast the P&L on a quarterly and annual basis

About the role

What you'll be doing

• Manage the Logistics Sourcing category and own the engagements at all levels with carriers, suppliers, and partners. This includes ownership of all partnerships and a sourcing portfolio that enables Roku to manage transportation, customs, and warehousing spend.

Below are some key roles and responsibilities:

• Prospecting: Identify and target large pools potential advertisers who could benefit from Roku Ads Manager’s self-serve ad platform. Use creative solutions to segment the market, build addressable lead list cohorts, and prioritize those for maximum return on outreach (i.e. sign ups + revenue).

This is a full time position. As a Recruiting Manager, Production you will manage a large team of direct reports, partner with stakeholders across the business, while building pipelines and strategy to scale a department that is aligned with our company culture and mission.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Manage a team of recruiters/sourcers to support scaling production needs 
• Own and drive hiring strategy full-cycle, providing effective, clear communication and reporting
• Act as a subject matter expert in prospecting techniques and tools used for information retrieval, data extraction, web-scraping, continuous process improvement, process automation, and candidate management
• Conduct a high volume of interviews, demonstrating ability to anticipate and influence hiring manager preferences through successful interview-to-offer conversion ratios
• Engage and source passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean strings, referrals and SOBO campaigns
• Build talent maps to generate market insights to inform your engagement strategy
• Drive diverse talent into the organization ensuring a positive candidate experience at every touchpoint
• Represent the company's brand and recruiting team internally and externally at the highest caliber
• Leverage internal resources, team mates, and cross functional partners to build strategy around selling our value proposition and impacting hiring practices

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of high-volume talent acquisition experience evaluating and hiring top tier talent
• 5+ years of experience working with senior level leaders and stakeholders, reporting on progress, creating and advising on talent strategies
• 3+ years of experience mentoring or managing a small team of recruiters focused on delivery of time-sensitive pipelines
• Experience recruiting at an agency and fast-paced startup, hiring exempt roles for Hardware, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering
• Ability to be onsite/hybrid at Costa Mesa, CA or Atlanta, GA office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience building talent acquisition function from the ground up for a greenfield location 
• Knowledge of ITAR policies around hiring practices 
• Experience acting in a consultative manner where your guidance has led to improved outcomes and positive candidate experiences
• Clear and effective communication with candidates to understand motivation, drivers, and fit within the organization
• Experience managing various high-volume pipelines of candidates and keeping track of their progress throughout the recruitment process
• Highly autonomous, collaborative, and adaptable
