Job Summary 

As the Hardware System Test Engineering Manager, you will lead the Hardware System Test Team responsible for developing manufacturing test solutions for High Performance Modules (HPM), Server Blades, and Multi-node racks as part of the production assembly process. You will drive the creation of robust test executive software that sequences tests and integrates test content from multiple internal and external sources. You will guide the development of manufacturing test content and test fixtures informed by a deep understanding of silicon, board, and system design. Working cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and software teams, you will ensure the right tools and functionality exist to efficiently validate product quality at scale. 

The Team 

The Product Test and Diagnosis team is responsible for identifying and diagnosing hardware defects introduced during the manufacturing process. The team defines, develops, and executes an end-to-end test strategy spanning silicon, board-level assemblies, server blades, and rack-scale systems. Testing is performed across the full product lifecycle, including manufacturing, and deployed field environments. 

Product Test and Diagnosis is part of the Manufacturing Operations organisation, which also comprises Manufacturing Technology, Supply Chain, and Quality teams. The group operates as a global team, with engineers based in the UK (Bristol and Cambridge), Taiwan, India, and the United States. 

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of hardware and software test engineers delivering manufacturing test solutions for complex compute systems. 

• Define the manufacturing test strategy and roadmap for High Performance Modules, Server Blades, and Multi-node racks. 

• Own delivery of test executive software used in both manufacturing and lab environments to orchestrate test sequencing, logging, results aggregation, and integration of test content from diverse sources. 

• Partner with internal software, firmware, and platform teams to ensure required hooks, diagnostics, telemetry, and APIs exist to enable effective manufacturing test. 

• Establish best practices for test coverage, traceability, release management, and configuration control of test software and content. 

• Implement metrics and dashboards for manufacturing test (yield, escapes, false fails, coverage, cycle time) and lead continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Drive root-cause analysis of manufacturing failures and field returns, coordinating corrective actions across design, validation, and manufacturing engineering. 

• Own the delivery of manufacturing test fixtures for High Performance Modules and Server Blades, including defining requirements, managing external subcontractors, and ensuring fixtures meet quality, cost, schedule, and production readiness needs. 

• Ensure test solutions are scalable, maintainable, and production-ready, including documentation, training, and support processes for factory deployment. 

• Support supplier/contract manufacturing engagements as needed, including test station readiness, deployment qualification, and ongoing production support. 

Candidate Profile  
 

Essential: 

• Experience developing manufacturing test solutions for high-performance servers, accelerators (GPU-class), or comparable large scale compute hardware. 

• Demonstrated people leadership experience managing a mixed hardware/software engineering team (hiring, coaching, performance management, and team development). 

• Deep technical understanding across silicon, board, and system design sufficient to define effective manufacturing test coverage and guide debug/root-cause analysis. 

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience driving requirements and delivery with internal software/firmware/platform teams to enable testability. 

• Hands-on experience using Linux, OpenBMC, and vendor specific test tools, diagnostics, and system-level utilities to test hardware in lab and manufacturing environments. 

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar. 

Desirable: 

• Familiarity with rack-scale/multi-node systems, high-speed interconnects, and production qualification of complex assemblies. 

• Experience improving manufacturing KPIs (yield, test time, false fail reduction) through data-driven process and test optimization. 

• Knowledge of open-source tools commonly used for manufacturing test

We are looking for a Technical Sourcing Manager who will report to the Procurement Manager and will have accountability for the delivery of project and programme procurement and cost services

The Team

The role will be as part of the Supply Chain team at Graphcore. This team is part of the Operations group and has members in Bristol and Taiwan. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining a robust manufacturing subcontract supply chain for Graphcore.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Collaborate with the Graphcore engineering team to identify and source key electrical commodities and critical components (capacitors, resistors, memory, PCBs, cabling, etc.), ensuring alignment with Graphcore’s technical roadmap and business objectives.
• Manage purchase orders and deliveries
• Negotiate, purchase, and expedite production components in support of NPI builds and business requirements
• Research and qualify new suppliers to expand the supply base
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and shorten delivery lead times
• Navigate and manage complex, multi-layer BOMs with confidence
• Monitor supplier performance and provide constructive feedback
• Track and report actual vs. planned costs (PPV)
• Partner with other operations stakeholders to maintain accurate BoM cost updates
• Verify NDA status with suppliers and coordinate renewals or execution of new agreements

Candidate Profile 

Essential:

• Strong technical / electronics background
• Experienced in EE component sourcing
• Degree/HNC or equivalent level in an Engineering/Technical Subject
• Will have experience in applying budgeting and cost control techniques within a complex environment.

As a Technical Programme Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of complex silicon chip design programmes, focusing on execution across design, implementation and tape-out. You will work across the full development lifecycle, from early product definition through to production readiness.

You will partner with engineering managers and cross-functional teams (ASIC/SoC design, physical design, verification, DFT, CAD, product and operations) to ensure programmes are delivered on time, within scope and to a high standard. This role requires strong technical understanding, programme leadership, and the ability to manage dependencies in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

The Team

Our Engineering Programme Management team sits at the heart of silicon innovation, enabling delivery of advanced chip technologies. We work across architecture, design, implementation and operations to drive alignment, execution and continuous improvement throughout the silicon lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution and day-to-day management of silicon design programmes, ensuring milestones and dependencies are clearly defined and tracked.
• Build and maintain integrated schedules across architecture, RTL, verification, physical design, DFT, CAD and tape-out.
• Drive alignment across engineering, product and operations on scope, priorities, resourcing and delivery plans.
• Support execution through key phases including specification, design reviews, implementation, sign-off and tape-out readiness.
• Manage scope changes, assessing impact on schedule and resources while maintaining stakeholder alignment.

Candidate Profile

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in programme/project management or technical delivery within semiconductor, ASIC, SoC or hardware environments.
• Experience supporting silicon design programmes across RTL, verification, physical design and tape-out.
• Good understanding of the silicon development lifecycle, including design, integration, implementation and tape-out milestones.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage dependencies and competing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk and issue management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and effective in fast-moving environments.

Desirable

• Experience with ASIC/SoC development flows, including design reviews, implementation, sign-off and tape-out.
• Familiarity with RTL, physical design, DFT, CAD or silicon platform teams.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Firmware Manager and working as a member of the Firmware Team, the Senior Staff Firmware Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of complex firmware systems across Graphcore’s next-generation hardware platforms. 

This role requires significant technical breadth and deep embedded systems expertise. You will contribute to shaping the firmware architecture and design, guide engineering practices, and solve highly challenging problems while maintaining a strong hands-on focus. You will partner closely with hardware, drivers, silicon and platform teams to deliver robust, scalable, production-quality firmware. 

The Team

The Firmware Team develops the low-level software responsible for the complete boot, configuration, and monitoring of Graphcore silicon and hardware platforms. Our work includes: 

• Boot and power sequencing
• Low-level hardware interfaces and drivers
• Telemetry, monitoring and SMBus/BMC data exposure
• Silicon and system bring-up 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide technical leadership and act as a subject-matter expert for complex firmware features, subsystems, and architecture decisions
• Lead design and development of scalable, maintainable firmware solutions in C, contributing to long-term architecture and system strategy
• Own and deliver critical low-level functionality (e.g., boot flows, embedded real-time logic, platform security, silicon bring-up)
• Perform advanced system debugging using low-level tools (e.g., JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analysers) and drive root-cause analysis for complex issues
• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, silicon, platform, and external partners to define requirements and resolve integration challenges
• Ensure high standards of quality, reliability, and security through code reviews, validation improvements, CI/CD, and automated testing
• Mentor engineers and elevate team performance by promoting best practices, improving development processes, and driving continuous engineering excellence

Candidate Profile

Essential:

• Proven industry experience in embedded/firmware engineering using C/C++
• Expertise in designing and delivering real-time embedded systems and complex boot logic
• Strong understanding of modern silicon and hardware interfaces (I2C, I3C, SMBus, SPI, PCIe, DDR, power management, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex technical initiatives
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex, cross-layer issues
• Ability to define and communicate architectural direction at subsystem or multi-subsystem scale
• Strong communication skills and the ability to document large system designs clearly
• Experience with CI/CD systems, build tools, and modern software engineering practices 

Desirable

• Experience with server architectures or datacentre hardware
• Understanding of server/platform security concepts and their application to firmware
• Experience working directly with silicon vendors or hardware partners
• Knowledge of OS kernel, secure firmware flows, or trusted execution environments
• Experience with device driver development
