Job Title :   Senior QA Engineer

Location: Remote

Type of position:  Contractual

Experience: 5+ Years

The opportunity:
We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our team, working primarily on ecommerce solutions for a luxury FMCG brand. You'll be embedded within agile scrum teams, taking a hands-on approach to manual testing and working closely with developers and product stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
You're someone who's curious, pragmatic, and comfortable working in fast-moving environments. You know when to follow a structured approach and when to explore. You're not afraid of APIs, logs, or digging into the backend to understand what's really happening.
But beyond the technical—you're a strong communicator. You can explain issues clearly, present testing outcomes with confidence, and hold your own in client conversations. You're always looking for better ways to do things, whether that's improving a process, trying a new tool, or bringing fresh thinking to how we approach quality. You're a continuous learner who takes ownership of your own growth.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Plan and execute manual testing across customer-facing journeys and supporting services, including exploratory, regression, and risk-based testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test approach, acceptance criteria, and quality risks early in delivery
  • Validate integrations and end-to-end flows across web, APIs, and backend systems (e.g., checkout, payments, fulfilment, customer data)
  • Use existing automated checks and quality signals to support release decisions, and partner with engineers to identify opportunities for suitable automation coverage
  • Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, collaborating with developers on investigation and resolution
  • Investigate issues using logs, monitoring, and data sources to validate behaviour and isolate root causes
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and outcomes to both internal teams and clients
What we want from you:
  • Solid experience in QA or test engineering
  • Experience testing ecommerce or transactional platforms—you understand customer journeys, checkout flows, payments, and integrations
  • Strong manual testing expertise, with a working understanding of test automation concepts and where automation adds value (hands-on coding not required)
  • Comfortable planning and executing risk-based testing, and communicating release risk clearly to stakeholders
  • Experience with cross-browser/device testing and responsive web validation
  • Strong attention to detail for premium brand presentation (content, UI polish, localisation, accessibility basics)
  • Comfortable with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and working with backend data—querying databases, reading logs, validating data flows
  • Experience working with content and product data in CMS/PIM/commerce admin tools (or similar back-office systems)
  • Experience working within agile scrum environments—sprints, standups, refinements, and retros
  • Familiarity with delivery pipelines and quality gates, and confidence interpreting test results and release signals
  • Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—with the confidence to engage directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Able to produce clear test evidence (test notes, screenshots, session charters) and high-quality defect reports
  • A genuine continuous learning mindset—you stay curious, seek feedback, and actively develop your skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong problem-solving instincts
  • Adaptable and open to evolving how you work, including adopting modern tools and approaches
