About this Module Lead, SDET role at BOLD
BOLD is seeking a Module Lead who can understand functional & technical views and has the ability to take responsibility for one or more modules independently. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the Engineering Manager and interact with the technical architect of the program to achieve these goals. In addition, your role will be to mentor developers and contribute to best practices and standards.
Our SDETs work with Product Managers and Dev Teams to understand features and technical implementation and ensure our sites, products, and platforms perform to industry-beating quality levels.
ABOUT THIS TEAM
BOLD Platform services team design, creates, manage and maintains the highly scalable and distributed services for the wider use of web and mobile product applications/portals/websites. The current list of services is based on Microservices architecture whose domain ranges from visitor tracking, User profiles, authentication, content and payments.
Platform team uses state of the art modern technologies like .Net framework, Python, Java, SQL Server, My SQL, Graph DB, SOLR, and a lot of other tools & technologies serving millions of users with hundreds of million transactions everyday through a scalable and fault tolerant architecture.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Take ownership of test coverage and quality strategy, ensuring all aspects are validated.
- Identify high-impact scenarios and optimize test execution through automation and AI.
- Predict high-risk areas and focus testing efficiently.
- Apply domain knowledge to improve product reliability, performance, and test design.
- Ensure continuous improvement of test automation, execution speed and reliability.
- Write SQL queries for data validations in testing (complex joins, aggregates, subqueries).
- Lead efforts to reduce QA cycle time by automating repetitive or manual activities.
- Partner with developers and DevOps to build observability into tests.
- Solution-providing approach for technical queries and team mentoring.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with multiple tasks.
- Contribute and own high-quality test automation.
- Work efficiently in a multi-project agile environment.
- Write specialized testing tools to optimize testing process.
- Participate in system designing, test designing and code reviews activities.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Experience in API Automation using Karate, Rest Assured, Java, or BDD.
- Experience with UI Automation tools like Playwright, Selenium
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages like Core Java, or C#.NET, etc.
- Experience with system/solution designing for any requirements.
- Have working experience in iterative and Agile methodologies.
- Quick learner with strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Exposure to Test and Defect Management Tools like JIRA, Trail, Zephyr, etc.
- Strong test automation strategies and fundamentals
- Prior experience in platform-based teams is preferable.
- Experience with Mock and Resilience Testing.
- Experience with XML and JSON handling.
- Experience with one or more database technology (SQL, MySQL, Mongo, Solr).
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or other.
- Experience with SCM tools like GitHub, Bitbucket.
- Experience with AI tools like Copilot, Cursor, or any other similar tool.
