We're recruiting for an Evening Despatch Supervisor to join our team in Watergrasshill, Cork. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to advance their career and lead a team. This is a full time, permanent position, reporting to the Logistics Manager
This is an evening shift position. Working hours are from Sunday to Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM. On Sundays, the shift typically ends earlier, around 8:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the despatch team to ensure safe, efficient daily operations.
- Coordinate order picking, loading, and despatch activities to meet customer requirements.
- Monitor stock movement, stock rotation, and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure export documentation and despatch paperwork are completed accurately and on time.
- Operate and oversee PPT, forklift, and shunter driving for loading and unloading trailers.
- Liaise with production, quality, and other departments to maintain smooth workflow.
- Manage day-to-day operational issues and resolve problems as they arise.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the despatch area.
- Support staff performance, attendance, training, and holiday planning.
- Provide CGI cover when needed.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
Requirements
What do we need from you?
- Basic computer skills are advantageous
- Good people management skills
- Target-oriented approach
- Commitment to confidentiality
- Previous experience in meat production (beef processing preferred)
- Responsible from pre op. to post op. handover
- Be flexible with working hours
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Please note: The factory is located in an area with limited public transport, so reliable private transport is recommended.
