We are seeking a proactive and motivated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to support and promote a positive safety culture across our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practices while driving continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.

Requirements
Health &Safety
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Health & Safety Management System.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Assist in developing safe systems of work, policies, and procedures.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and employee training programmes.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Maintain health and safety records, reports, and documentation.
Environmental
- Support compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and company standards.
- Monitor waste management, recycling programmes, and environmental controls.
- Assist in implementing environmental improvement initiatives and sustainability projects.
- Conduct environmental inspections and audits.
- Support environmental reporting and performance monitoring.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Track corrective and preventative actions to completion.
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Prepare monthly EHS reports and KPI dashboards for management.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, construction, engineering, logistics, or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full driving licence.
Desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- IOSH Membership.
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Knowledge of sustainability and environmental improvement programmes.
