About this Production Supervisor role at BW Energy
The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of process facilities while maintaining high operational standards. The role supervises production personnel, coordinates daily production activities, and supports maintenance planning and troubleshooting. It also ensures compliance with HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, and operating standards while monitoring production performance. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication are essential to optimize production and support continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Direct and work with CRO, Production Operators and Laboratory Technician with understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
- Reporting or recording same as directed as per AMOS system.
- Provide feedback on performance issues to the Production Superintendent and on the job training where required.
- Maintain clear production history of each well and of equipment and inform Production Superintendent of any change that Client should be aware.
- Clear reporting of deficiencies and malfunctions to the Production Superintendent.
- Discuss and analyze technical and spares issues with Production Superintendent and Maintenance Department.
- Propose solutions related to eventual bottlenecks, deficiencies, non-conformities to Production Superintendent.
- Ensuring all plant is operated safely and in accordance with BW/Client’s procedures.
- Clear understanding of Isolation Standards and their application and risk assessment.
- Manager supporting documentation.
- PTW system coordinator when appointed by OIM.
- Administer and monitor a Code of Safe Handling of Hazardous Substances (COSHH) on the FPSO and maintain product data sheets on file.
- Knowledge of emergency response actions and duties required in emergency/abnormal situation.
- Understanding and interpretation of all logged data.
- Preparation of plant for intrusive maintenance.
- Responsible for WO close out.
- Preparation of operating procedures.
- Effective communication with peers and subordinates.
- Knowledge and understanding of actions required to minimize commercial loss.
- Ensure proper handover during shift change.
- Understanding of chemical injection systems with regard to product specification.
- Daily management of production plant maintenance, general housekeeping and preservation of the Process Area.
- Other duties that are correlated to the function as directed and requested by Production Superintendent.
- Keep up certification applied to the function and medical certificates up to date.
- Attend Company training as defined.
- Perform all emergency duties assigned to their function, in response to the emergency, if applicable.
- Ensure compliance with BW procedures, applied to the function, including BW Permit to Work System.
- Need to be fully familiar and comply with Company Policies, Quality, HSE and all Procedures assigned to his title/position.
- Anticipate and notice any unsafe condition and assure that the correction actions are taken according to procedure.
- Responsible for your own safety and for the safety of your co-workers.
Requirements
Education
- HNC (High National Certificate) in Chemical and Petrochemical subject or Engineer degree or solid
experience and proved expertise in the area through curriculum and/or labor book.
Experience
- Experience in chemical /petrochemical industry with offshore acting or extensive experience in
Production department in general.
