About this Electrical and Instrument Supervisor role at BW Energy
The E&I Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems onboard the FPSO. The role leads maintenance activities, supervises the E&I team, and provides technical guidance and on-the-job training. It includes troubleshooting complex control systems, ensuring compliance with HSE standards and permit-to-work procedures, and managing maintenance records and spare parts. The position also acts as the FPSO Electrical Authority and Cyber Security Officer, promoting operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Direct and work with Electrical / Instrument Technicians and Engineer, Electrical Technician, DCS Technician and Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical/Instrument Technician and lead the troubleshooting in electrical and instrumentation matters.
- Provide feedback on performance issues to the Maintenance Superintendent and on the job training where required.
- Ensure that planned maintenance activities are performed correctly, timely and in an efficient manner.
- Reporting and recording same as directed as per IFS system.
- Act as the FPSO Electrical Authority, reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent.
- Ensure that plant and equipment is fully operational and critically maintained in accordance with procedures BW and vendors, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and be proactive in maintaining high Standards.
- Diagnose faults on defective equipment ensuring that all work is adequately monitored, carried out safely and is fit for purpose
- Clear reporting of deficiencies and malfunctions to the Maintenance Superintendent. Also, in the Control Systems as for ABB 800XA control system, PCS7 and WinCC Siemens control systems, GE Mark VI, Allen Bradley Controllogix5000.
- Discuss and analyze technical and spares issues with Maintenance Superintendent.
- Propose solutions related to eventual bottlenecks, deficiencies, nonconformities to Maintenance Superintendent.
- Review the quality of information in the maintenance database, such that the information contained is technical valid, accurate and up to date. Maintain a close working relationship with other Department Supervisors.
- Ensure that spare parts received for electrical and instrumentation equipment are as per material requested and revert to the Maintenance Superintendent any nonconformity in due time.
- Ensure compliance with permit to work system, isolation standards and Job Safety Analysis.
- Be aware of the financial aspects related to the maintenance of E/I equipment and give guidance to optimize the Costs Management of general housekeeping.
- Carry out in-house trainings to E&I personnel for power tools and hand tools.
- To act as Cyber Security Officer, ensuring the subject is being treated with attention and care. Be aware of roles and responsibilities regarding emergency response.

Requirements
Education
- Qualified to HNC (Higher National Certificate) / HND (Higher National Diploma) in instrumentation and Electrical or equivalent.
Experience
- Relevante experience in this role
- Offshore Experience requested.
- Preferable FPSO Experience.
