About this Network Engineer (Routing & Switching) role at Uni Systems
At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Network Engineer (Routing & Switching) to join our UniQue team.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Provide Level 3 support for complex enterprise routing and switching environments.
- Lead the resolution of critical network incidents and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Design, implement, and support network enhancements and infrastructure projects.
- Validate network changes, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with change management processes.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize network performance, availability, and resilience.
- Coordinate routing and switching standardization, maintenance, and best practices across distributed sites.
- Support NATO operations and exercises through network design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Evaluate network management tools and promote operational improvements and automation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and knowledge articles.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to resolve infrastructure issues.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed in this position?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with relevant experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Active CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Service Provider certification.
- Strong expertise in enterprise routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, IPv6, multicast, SD-WAN, QoS, and VXLAN.
- Experience with Cisco enterprise and data center platforms (NX-OS, StackWise, Spine-Leaf architectures).
- Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as Wireshark, NetFlow, SNMP, and network monitoring platforms.
- Experience with network automation and programmability using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs.
- Knowledge of network security technologies, including ACLs, VPN/IPSec, AAA, PKI, and security hardening.
- Experience with network automation, monitoring, and incident management tools (e.g., HP Network Automation, CA Spectrum, BMC Remedy).
- Solid understanding of ITIL, configuration management, service transition, and change management processes.
- Experience producing technical documentation, test plans, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Advanced English (C1) communication skills (written and spoken).
Desirable
- Active CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Service Provider, or equivalent certification.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Experience supporting military, defence, or multinational organizations.
- Knowledge of command-and-control (C2) systems and operational network environments.
