About this Test Engineer role at Uni Systems

What will you be doing in this role?
- Providing advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools while ensuring adherence to policies and standards.
- Tailoring processes in line with agreed standards through the evaluation of methods and tools.
- Reviewing and improving the usage and application of methods and tools.
- Developing acceptance criteria related to functional and non-functional requirements, business processes, features, user stories, and business rules.
- Designing, specifying, and executing test cases and scenarios to verify that systems, products, and services fulfil acceptance criteria and deliver the expected business benefits.
- Collaborating with project colleagues, stakeholders, and technical teams involved in the analysis, development, and operation of products, systems, and services to ensure accuracy, comprehensive test coverage, and alignment with agreed system integration plans.
- Analyzing and reporting on test activities, results, issues, risks, and integration progress.
- Providing technical expertise to enable the configuration of system components and equipment for system testing.
- Defining complex or new integration builds.
- Ensuring that integration test environments are correctly configured.
- Designing, performing, and reporting the results of integration build testing.
- Identifying and documenting system integration components for recording in the configuration management system.
- Recommending and implementing improvements to processes and tools.
- Applying tools, techniques, and processes to track, log, and correct information related to configuration items.
- Verifying and approving changes while ensuring the protection of assets and components from unauthorised changes, diversion, and inappropriate use.
- Ensuring compliance with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, life cycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases, and templates.
- Performing audits to verify the accuracy of configuration information and undertaking any necessary corrective actions under direction.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed in this position?
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least 2 years of experience in a similar domain.
- Certification in test, verification, and validation, such as ISTQB or an equivalent foundation-level certification.
- At least 2 years of recent experience in planning and executing test, verification, and validation activities for large, complex projects.
- At least 2 years of recent experience in functional, non-functional, and interoperability testing of systems and products.
- Proven experience managing external stakeholders and co-workers during the execution of large, complex projects.
- Ability to understand and reason about hardware and software system architectures typically found in system design documents.
- Ability to understand technical concepts such as DNS, NTP, email, databases, application architectures, and inter-application communication protocols.
- Ability to communicate clearly, coherently, concisely, and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Fluency in English.
