Position Purpose
Reporting to the Country Talent & Excitement Lead (Country HR Lead), your role will drive the operational and strategic aspects of human resources, aligning talent management initiatives with the business objectives for LUXASIA's Joint Venture entities and other LUXASIA functions in Malaysia. You will play a crucial role in cultivating a positive, high-performance culture, ensuring adherence to labor laws, and supporting our trajectory of growth.
Responsibilities:
Business Partnership & Strategic HR
- Serve as the trusted HR partner to business leaders, aligning people strategies with business objectives and organizational priorities.
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organization effectiveness, talent development, succession planning and team capability building.
- Provide strategic and practical HR advice to managers on employee lifecycle, people matters and organizational challenges.
- Support leaders in driving high-performing teams and fostering a positive employee experience.
Employee Experience & Employee Relations
- Lead the end-to-end employee experience across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through exit management.
- Drive employee engagement, wellbeing and recognition initiatives in partnership with the Talent Acquisition & Employee Experience team.
- Coach managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, grievances, disciplinary cases, domestic inquiries and misconduct investigations.
- Promote a positive workplace culture that reinforces collaboration, inclusion and the 'One Team' mindset.
HR Operations & Operational Excellence
- Ensure effective delivery of day-to-day HR operations while continuously improving service quality, efficiency and employee experience.
- Drive operational excellence by reviewing, simplifying and improving HR processes and ways of working.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and Company HR guidelines.
- Partner with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution of employee lifecycle processes and statutory requirements.
Talent & Organization Development
- Support talent management, learning and development, succession planning and organizational development initiatives.
- Identify organizational capability gaps and recommend appropriate HR interventions to enhance team effectiveness and business performance.
- Support change management initiatives and organizational transformation projects where required.
HR Analytics & Workforce Planning
- Support manpower planning, organization structure reviews and workforce budgeting.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, absenteeism, employee relations trends) to provide insights and recommendations to business leaders.
- Support annual salary review, bonus planning and people-related budgeting activities.
Requirements:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Psychology or HR related discipline; or an equivalent blend of relevant education and professional experience that supports successful job performance.
- Minimum 6 to 8 years’ experience in a HR Business Partner role or full spectrum of human resource functions; preferably in a multinational or luxury retail environment.
- Proactive and not afraid to get into the details to get things done.
- Good knowledge of local labor legislation and industrial acts.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead and manage change in organizations.
- Self-starter, energetic, positive and strong problem-solving skills driven by data, business acumen and meticulous.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver results under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and more.
