Jobs Companies Geocomply Full Stack Developer Intern (Fall 2026)

About this Full Stack Developer Intern (Fall 2026) role at Geocomply

Geocomply · Onsite · Vancouver, BC

Location: Vancouver, B.C. Full-time, 40 hrs/week · Contract length: ~4 months

Start date: September 3rd, 2026

Application deadline: July 23,2026

Salary range: $54,000 and ~$62,000 (annualized, prorated to your ~4-month placement).

We’re GeoComply, an identity verification, anti-fraud and compliance company that uses advanced location detection and device intelligence to verify user identity and catch fraud online before loss happens.

The problem you'd be working on:

When a GeoComply client wants to understand a fraud decision our systems made, or change how one of their rules resolves, it's a black box on the client side. They ask us, we make the changes, and the client never really sees exactly how their data moved through our pipeline or why a given outcome fired.

We want to fix that by building a customer-facing system inside our product that ingests transaction data, shows our customers where each signal flows through our pipeline, and lets them tune rule outcomes themselves.

Over four months, your job will be to help turn a prototype into something we can put in front of real clients and grow toward a production feature that will make a lasting impact on how hundreds of our customers use us as a tool in their verification, anti-fraud, and compliance arsonals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build features on a real product: the UI that makes our decisioning visible, and the ingestion and API work behind it.

  • Get operator event data flowing in (Segment events, analytics SDKs, webhooks) and reason about the full loop: ingest, enrich, decide, act.

  • Dig into how rules and signals actually work today and figure out how to expose that to a customer safely, and in a way that they can digest, not just with information overload.

  • Sit close to real client conversations (we're already lining up demos), take the feedback, and fold it back into what you build.

  • Use AI the way this team already does: to move faster, clear your own blockers, and build things a senior developer couldn't ship a few years ago.

Role Requirements

  • Current students preferred; your specific degree doesn’t matter, as long as you have the full-stack skills, interests, and aptitude we’re looking for.

  • You're familiar with APIs, event data, and integrations, and you can pick up an unfamiliar codebase with minimal despair.

  • You're strong in React and TypeScript, or strong enough elsewhere that you can get there fast.

  • You’ve written a real backend in something (Python is a plus).

  • You can look at something messy and undocumented, ask a lot of sharp questions, and build a clear picture.

  • You handle data carefully. When it's a real transaction and personal data, your attention to detail will matter more than speed.

  • You can talk to non-engineers, including customers and even our Executive Leadership Team, and explain why your work matters in their language.

  • Embrace Stretch Opportunities (The Fun Part!): As a GeoComply intern, expect to be pushed. You'll be given special, high-value projects outside the immediate scope of your role; a chance to explore new skills, test your limits, and adapt to new challenges across the business.

Why the right person will love this role:

  • You’re working on a real product with real customers and revenue riding on it. If successful, your code will be seen (and hopefully loved!) by our customers.
  • The problem is meaty and cross-disciplinary: data, fraud, ML, and customer trust in one build.

  • Exposure to Fraud, Risk, and Trust and Safety use cases: account takeover, bonus abuse, multi-account rings, proxy and device spoofing, and the million other patterns we help our clients fight every day.

  • Visibility to customers and end users by default.

  •

You'll get your hands on the guts of how GeoComply catches fraud:

    • Prototypes and the wider Risk Platform it's growing into.

    • Event ingestion: Segment, analytics SDKs, webhooks, and the pipelines that carry operator transaction data.

    • Databricks and the data platform where all of this lands.

    • The rule engine world: how fraud rules, signals, and configs actually resolve, including the shadow-mode and adaptive-config machinery most people never see.

    • GeoComply's product suite up close: RiskGuard's signals, IDComply's identity checks, and our decisioning layers.

    • AI tooling as a daily building partner, which is already how this team works.

You’ll hate this role if you can’t handle:

  • A lack of clean specs, shifting scope. Someone who needs a defined backlog may feel unmoored, and someone who wants tidy docs and one person handing them end to end tasks will stall.

  • Customer, internal teams, and live demo/feedback exposure. Someone who wants to code alone in a corner will dread the required stakeholder load.

  • High-consequence domain: fraud, compliance, PII, production-adjacent data. Someone careless, or who wants a low-stakes sandbox is a bad fit .

  • How mentorship and support work

Your manager is our Director of Engineering who sits in the Vancouver office, she'll also be your technical mentor day to day. You'll also work alongside the senior engineers who built the Risk Platform and the product and leadership people deciding where it goes next, so the feedback you get comes from the people making the real calls.

On top of your team, you're part of the Early Talent cohort: structured check-ins, a group of other interns chewing on hard problems next to you, and skip-level time with senior leadership built into the program.

If your manager is away for a week, the scaffolding around you will be there to bridge the gap.

    What You'll Gain

    • Ownership of a product with customers and revenue attached, and the rare intern experience of taking something from prototype toward production.

    • Hands-on experience and mentorship in a stack most new grads never touch: event pipelines, a live rule engine, data platforms, and the anti-fraud domain behind them.

    • Proof you can build. If this lands, your work goes in front of real clients, and you can point at it long after the term ends.

    • A front-row view of how fraud, data, and product decisions get made at a company protecting some of the biggest names in gaming and finance.

    • Support and feedback from senior engineers and leaders who treat interns as builders, disruptors, and innovators, not helpers or coffee-runners.

Bonus Points if (nice to have, not needed)

    • React Flow, Monaco, or other rich interactive-UI libraries

    • FastAPI or another Python web framework

    • WebSockets / real-time streaming, or event pipelines (Segment, webhooks)

    • Docker, GCP, or Postgres

    • Any exposure to fraud, risk, or data visualization.

    About GeoComply's Early Talent Program

Most companies see interns as cheap labour, a temporary workforce, or someone to hand the tasks nobody else wants. We think that's a huge missed opportunity.

GeoComply treats our Early Talent Program as a chance to hand-select and shape our future leaders: to give them the roots of the skills we want our team leads to have in five years, and our executives in fifteen. We develop our future pipeline of people as thoughtfully as we develop our products.

    The stats back that up:

    • GeoComply supports an average of 60 intern positions a year, globally.

    • 8 to 10% of our current workforce were hired on as interns.

    • Every intern gets hundreds of hours of job-specific training and professional development from their managers, mentors, and the Early Talent Program.
