About this Marketing Automation Intern (Fall 2026) role at Geocomply
The Role
GeoComply protects online trust for some of the biggest names in gaming, banking, and beyond. Our Creative Services team shapes how the world finds, reads, and understands GeoComply. But how people find companies is changing fast, as much through AI assistants and answer engines now as through traditional search. When someone asks an AI tool who leads geolocation compliance, GeoComply should be the answer. And when they reach our site, it should be fast, clear, and easy to navigate.
The Problem You’ll be Solving
You'll build the website optimization, SEO and AEO (answer-engine optimization), and analytics tooling that makes GeoComply's web presence fast, discoverable, and AI-search ready. Giving our creative, marketing, and sales teams insight they don't have today.
AEO and Marketing automations like this are new fields, so we don’t expect you to be an expert. What you do need is a real feel for marketing and the instinct to figure things out without a map. You'll learn the rest as you go, right alongside the team.
Key Responsibilities
Test, experiment, evaluate, iterate. You will do SEO and AEO search analysis across GeoComply's web properties, and translate what you find into prioritized, actionable improvements.
Work directly with internal teams that have client-facing interactions (such as our biz-dev, senior leaders, and sales pods) to understand the type of content they need.
Build durable, documented workflows across website optimization in WordPress using a mix of your own technical skills and AI Tools such as Claude,
Monitor and create SEO and AEO analyses across our many verticals and recommend content for our pipeline.
Drive adoption of the new workflows: document friction points and propose fixes based on team feedback before term end.
Embrace Stretch Opportunities (The Fun Part!): As a GeoComply intern, expect to be pushed. You'll be given special, high-value projects outside the immediate scope of your role, a chance to explore new skills, test your limits, and adapt to new challenges across the business
Role Requirements
-
You like marketing and have a basic understanding of how it works. It excites you to be at the intersection of marketing and technology, not just do one or the other. No degree or specific background required, but this isn't a role you can start as a blank page.
-
You must be interested in automation. Seeing a manual task and thinking "there's a faster way to do this" is second nature to you.
-
You'd rather spend a day building a tool that saves ten hours later than spend those ten hours doing the task yourself.
-
You're curious about how AI scrapers and bots read and rank a site differently than a human does, and you want to go deep on it.
-
You’re hungry to understand how content and technical optimization work together, and know that learning in this field will never stop. This field changes weekly, nobody has the answers yet, and you'll be expected to bring solutions, not wait for someone to hand them to you.
-
You’re curious and AI-fluent. You reach for AI and low-code tools to build workflows.
-
You’re analytics-minded. You're comfortable (or eager to learn) with web analytics and reporting (HubSpot, Google Analytics,) and you let the data set the priorities.
What This Role Is (and Isn't)
This role is:
-
A build-and-analyze role. You'll spend your time building tooling and reading data, then turning it into improvements.
-
Adoption-first. Success is workflows the team keeps using and can hand off, not a one-time audit.
-
Self-directed. You'll find the gaps, prioritize them, and make the case for what to fix.
-
A content-writing or graphic-design seat. Design and UX sense is a welcome bonus, but it isn't the job.
-
A role with a checklist handed to you. It's on you to spot the opportunity and propose the solution.
-
A fit if you want purely creative work with no technical or analytics depth.
This role is not:
What Success Looks Like
-
The creative team is running the web-optimization and analytics workflows themselves by end of term, with documentation that enables handoff and continued use.
-
A measurable improvement in page performance, AEO readiness, or reporting turnaround, tracked against the baseline you set.
-
At least one insight or optimization tied to a real commercial outcome, validated by a stakeholder by the final showcase.
-
A prioritized set of web-content and SEO/AEO gap recommendations across the Pods, each with a proposed automation or workflow fix.
What You'll Gain
-
Exposure across teams. Marketing interns here get lent out a lot, and most people find that's the best part.
-
Real ownership of GeoComply's web discoverability, with your work visible to marketing and commercial leadership. If done well, your discoveries will have a material impact on our website, marketing strategies, and more that you’ll be able to see at the end of your term!
-
Hands-on experience at the front edge of the shift from traditional search to AI-powered search.
-
Mentorship and support from the Creative Services team, marketing director, and your direct manager who’s been working on these projects off the corner of his desk for months.
-
Room for Growth: We think young talent has so much to offer. Your work will have a meaningful impact on your team and the organization, and will allow you to grow your skills, network, and career.
Bonus Points
-
Design or UI/UX sense. (You'll touch some, but this isn't a design seat.)
-
Wordpress skills
-
Hubspot skills
-
Enough server or DevOps awareness to notice when something technical is the real problem (for example, a server quietly blocking AI crawlers so they never read your content).
About GeoComply's Early Talent Program
Most companies see interns as cheap labour, a temporary workforce, or someone to hand the tasks nobody else wants. We think that's a huge missed opportunity.
GeoComply treats our Early Talent Program as a chance to hand-select and shape our future leaders: to give them the roots of the skills we want our team leads to have in five years, and our executives in fifteen. We develop our future pipeline of people as thoughtfully as we develop our products.
The stats back that up:
-
GeoComply supports an average of 60 intern positions a year, globally.
-
8 to 10% of our current workforce were hired on as interns.
-
Every intern gets hundreds of hours of job-specific training and professional development from their managers, mentors, and the Early Talent Program.
