About this Assistant Manager - Marketing, South role at Sony Music Global Job Board
Sony Music South is looking for a creative, culturally attuned marketing professional to join our team in Chennai. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping how our soundtrack releases and artists connect with audiences - across social media, digital platforms, and beyond. You will work closely with a diverse network of external stakeholders spanning the creative community, alongside internal teams across catalogue and digital, ensuring every campaign is thoughtfully crafted, trend-forward, and executed with precision. The ideal candidate brings a genuine passion for music, a keen eye for detail, and the agility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving creative environment.
What you'll do:
- Develop and execute marketing strategies for new and catalogue releases across digital, social, and on-ground channels
- Own social media content planning and publishing — staying ahead of platform trends, formats, and audience behaviour
- Curate and manage influencer campaigns and content creator partnerships end-to-end
- Liaise with artists, producers, digital partners, radio, TV, and PR teams for coordinated campaign rollouts
- Track campaign performance, maintain records, and ensure efficient utilisation of marketing budgets
Who you are:
- 2–3 years of experience in marketing, preferably in music, entertainment, media, or a culturally driven brand
- Genuinely passionate about music - Tamil and Malayalam market fluency is a strong plus
- Deeply plugged into social media trends; you understand what works on Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and what's coming next
- Sharp eye for detail with the ability to juggle multiple campaigns and deadlines without dropping the ball
- Skills: Creativity, Analytical outlook, Organisational skills, Communication skills- local language adaptability
- Native fluency in Tamil language is a must.
