About the role
We are partnering with a privately held services business to find a General Manager for its Commercial Services Division. The company serves a diverse portfolio of commercial and institutional clients and is seeking a leader who can take broad ownership of divisional performance.
This role is suited to a commercially minded operator who can balance client satisfaction, team leadership, financial discipline, and service quality. The General Manager will have meaningful influence over division growth, process improvement, and leadership development.
The successful candidate will bring a strong sense of ownership, practical decision-making, and the ability to lead a large service-oriented team through a period of continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of divisional performance across people, clients, financials, and service standards
- Lead managers and supervisors responsible for frontline service delivery
- Monitor budget performance, labor costs, billing accuracy, and contract profitability
- Maintain strong relationships with key commercial and institutional clients
- Support business development efforts through proposals, renewals, and client presentations
- Improve operating processes, reporting, accountability, and cross-functional coordination
- Oversee new account launches, client transitions, and service escalations
- Build a high-performance leadership culture across the division
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading a commercial services division, region, or large operating unit
- Strong P&L, budget, labor cost, and contract performance experience
- Experience managing multi-site teams in a service-based environment
- Strong client relationship management and retention experience
- Ability to lead managers, supervisors, and frontline teams through growth and change
- Strong financial, analytical, and operational decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and executive presence
- Background in security services, facilities services, property services, or similar commercial services
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations, Finance, or a related field
- Experience managing teams of 50 or more
- Experience leading a business unit through expansion, restructuring, or performance improvement
Benefits
Base salary: $110,000 to $130,000 depending on experience
Performance bonus: up to 15% based on individual and company performance
