Architected refreshed job spec leveraging broader criteria and benefits clarity

Architected refreshed job spec leveraging broader criteria and benefits clarity

Pulled the live spec for Business Development Representative – Onsite CPT (Fundwell, job 5775803). Here's a full refresh. The main levers I pulled to lift application volume:

  • Widened the top of the funnel — experience is now framed as "advantageous" rather than required, and I've explicitly invited strong candidates from call centre, telesales, hospitality and retail backgrounds. This is the single biggest driver of more applications (trade-off: slightly more screening for you — easy to tighten back if the quality dips).
  • Led with the hook — uncapped earnings, US market, free mornings and transport now sit near the top, not buried in benefits.
  • Warmer, more human tone plus a "who thrives here" section so self-selectors lean in.
  • Kept every hard fact identical (salary, hours, on-site CPT, transport, Apple kit, medical, Fundwell/US funding), and kept the keyword coverage strong for search.

I can't push this live to Workable from here (there's no edit/publish tool on my side, and publishing changes is your call anyway) — so paste the fields below into a refreshed posting.

Title (pick one — all keep search visibility):

  • Business Development Representative – US Market | Uncapped Commission (Cape Town, On-Site)
  • BDR – US Business Funding | Cape Town CBD (Free Mornings + Uncapped Earnings)
  • Business Development Rep – US Sales | On-Site Cape Town

Description

Want US-market sales experience, uncapped earnings, and your mornings back? Read on.

Fundwell is a fast-growing US-based platform changing how businesses access capital — making funding faster, simpler and fully transparent. By pairing smart technology with deep financial expertise, we help small and medium-sized businesses unlock growth without the delays of traditional finance.

We're expanding our Cape Town sales floor and looking for driven, high-energy Business Development Representatives to speak directly with US business owners, spot real funding opportunities, and guide them into the process. This is fast-paced, target-driven work on a competitive, high-performance floor — the kind of environment where energy and consistency get rewarded fast.

You don't need years of sales experience. You do need to be confident on the phone, quick to build rapport, and hungry to earn. We'll teach you the rest.

Who thrives here

  • People who love the buzz of a busy sales floor and a bit of healthy competition
  • Confident communicators who aren't fazed by a "no"
  • Anyone from call centre, telesales, hospitality, retail or promotions who's ready to level up into international B2B sales
  • Self-starters chasing real earning potential, not just a salary

What you'll do

  • Make high-volume outbound calls (150–200+ dials daily) to connect with US business owners
  • Handle objections with confidence and keep control of conversations with decision-makers
  • Quickly understand a business's needs and position the right funding solution
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline through sharp qualification and follow-up
  • Keep client records and CRM updated in real time
  • Consistently hit and beat daily, weekly and monthly targets

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal communication with a clear, confident, neutral English accent
  • Resilience, drive and a genuinely competitive streak — you like chasing a target
  • Comfortable with high-volume outbound calling and speaking to decision-makers
  • Strong organisational habits and CRM/pipeline discipline
  • Eligible to work in South Africa
  • Fully committed to US-aligned hours: 14:00–23:00 or 15:00–00:00, on-site in Cape Town CBD

Nice to have (not essential — we train)

  • Outbound B2B sales or high-volume cold calling experience
  • Exposure to US or UK markets
  • Background in financial services (SMB funding, lending or finance-related sales)

Benefits — The 2026 Package

  • Uncapped earning potential: Competitive base of R180,000–R550,000/year plus an uncapped, accelerated commission structure
  • Quarterly & annual rewards: Performance bonuses and discretionary cash incentives
  • Global exposure: A sophisticated international sales environment, working on state-of-the-art Apple hardware
  • Safe transport home: Dedicated transport for safe drop-offs at designated locations after your shift
  • Free mornings: US-aligned hours leave your mornings completely open — for the beach, the gym, or life admin
  • Health & growth: Comprehensive medical benefits and a clear path into closing and leadership roles as the office grows

Want me to tune it in a particular direction — e.g. a more entry-level "no experience needed" version to maximise volume, or a sharper version that keeps quality tighter? I can also give you two variants to A/B if you'd like to test which pulls better.

what are some good keywords to add to fundwell

Synthesized keyword strategy across job titles, skills, and location targeting

Synthesized keyword strategy across job titles, skills, and location targeting

Good move — keywords are mostly what drives discoverability on the job boards, so this is a direct lever on application volume. Your current list is heavy on sales/US-market terms but has real gaps. Here's what I'd add, grouped by why:

Location (biggest quick win — you have almost none)
Cape Town, Cape Town CBD, Cape Town City Centre, Western Cape, On-Site Cape Town

Funnel-wideners — adjacent titles people actually search (matches the broadened spec)
Call Centre Agent, Contact Centre Agent, Customer Service Representative, Inside Sales Representative, Outbound Sales Agent, Appointment Setter, Sales Consultant, Telemarketer, Brand Ambassador

Entry-level pulls (to catch the "ready to level up" crowd)
Entry Level Sales, No Experience Required, Full Training Provided, Graduate Sales, Trainee Sales, Junior BDR, Matric

Skills candidates search by
Cold Calling, Objection Handling, Negotiation, Lead Qualification, Lead Generation, Pipeline Management, Rapport Building, Communication Skills, Resilience, Target-Driven, CRM

Industry / product context (you're light here despite it being a Fundwell finance role)
Fintech, Financial Services, Business Funding, Business Loans, Working Capital, Corporate Finance, Lending, SMB, SME

Hours & package (people literally search these)
US Hours, US Business Hours, Night Shift, Uncapped Commission, Commission Based

Two quick housekeeping notes: your current list has a stray "Inter" entry that looks like a truncated tag — worth deleting. And a lot of your existing keywords have parenthetical variants like "US Market (or International Sales)" — those read like internal drafting notes rather than clean search terms, so I'd tidy them to the plain version over time.

You'll need to add these in the Workable UI (there's no edit tool on my side to push them for you). Want me to hand you a single clean, de-duplicated, comma-separated master list — your existing keywords merged with these, stray tags removed — so you can paste it straight in?

Identified title-requirements mismatch and restructured job posting strategically

Identified title-requirements mismatch and restructured job posting strategically

Done — pulled the live Call Centre Agent – Onsite CPT spec. Same refresh treatment as the BDR, with one role-specific flag worth calling out first:

The title and the requirements are fighting each other. People searching "call centre agent" skew more entry-level, but this posting demands proven outbound B2B experience, 150–200+ dials/day and CRM/pipeline management. That mismatch is quietly killing your conversion — the people the title attracts read the requirements and bounce. So for this one, widening the funnel matters even more than it did for the BDR.

Same levers otherwise: led with the hook, softened experience to "advantageous," warmer tone, added a "who thrives here" section, kept every fact identical (R180k–R550k, US hours, on-site CPT, transport, Apple kit, medical). Paste the fields below into a refreshed posting — I can't push it live from my side.
