The Marketing Division leads the brand, creative, marketing, and membership areas as a cross-functional organization within the Rakuten Group, which has over 70 services. Our mission is to expand the membership value and ecosystem of the Rakuten Group.  

Department Overview

The mission of the Brand Enhancement Department is to communicate the appeal and convenience of Rakuten's more than 70 services to customers through website production and event management (including related website production). 

We are responsible for pages related to business promotion and brand strategy, including mobile-related services, "Mama-wari" and "Gaku-wari" for promoting cross-use, the Rakuten corporate site, and official websites for Rakuten events. We strive to build attractive websites for our customers by collaborating closely with various business units and departments. 

In this role, you will manage website operations by leveraging strategic UX design, working in tandem with designers and coders. Specifically, as a Web Director or Project Manager, you will lead medium- to large-scale projects and oversee tasks such as website operation, AI integration to optimize workflows, and technical implementation.

Position Details 

Role Overview: 
We are looking for a Web Director (Project Manager) to join the Brand Enhancement Department within the Marketing Division.

You will be responsible for managing corporate, brand, business, and event-related websites for the Rakuten Group, either on an individual project basis or across multiple business domains.

Key Responsibilities: 
As a Web Director, you will oversee the entire production process and ongoing operations, including: 
- Leading meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders. 

- Defining requirements and scope. 

- Improving operational workflows. 

- Creating wireframes. 

- Managing production progress, including design and coding. 

- Conducting performance analysis and reporting. 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): 
Our team focuses on improving brand awareness and favorability, driving traffic, increasing conversion rates, and enhancing operational efficiency.
You will be responsible for:

- Analyzing access data and creating performance reports.

- Continuously optimizing workflows to improve team productivity.

Mandatory Qualifications: 

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Web Director. 

- Experience in web production management and production direction. 

- Experience in leading medium to large-scale cross-functional projects. 

- Experience in wireframe creation and UI design. 

- Basic knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. 

- Ability to communicate smoothly with business divisions and production teams.

Desired Qualifications: 

■ Preferred Qualifications: 

- Knowledge of UX design

- Knowledge of access analysis / web analytics 

- Experience in external vendor management

- Understanding of web system development 

■ Desired Candidate Profile:
