Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Accounting and Finance department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated VPP Product Accounting Sr. Analyst.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the VPP Accounting team in the accurate and timely preparation and delivery of financial results in conformity with US GAAP. You will serve as a subject matter expert for the Insurance Accounting group, providing critical financial insights that enable sound decision-making and drive management actions across the organization.
Reporting to the VPP Product Accounting Manager, the person in this role will support the department’s objective to develop our business, grow internal capabilities, and ensure the highest standards of financial integrity.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will be at the heart of our financial operations, balancing technical accounting precision with strategic business partnership. Success means you are a proactive problem-solver who thrives on ensuring financial accuracy while building collaborative relationships that help our business units succeed.
Lead month-end closing activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Evaluate the reasonableness of financial information provided by business partners and independently research fluctuations to resolve issues quickly.
Prepare and review supporting schedules for internal and external audits, ensuring we meet all regulatory and tax reporting deadlines with confidence.
Propose and implement improvements to existing analyses and leverage advanced technology to streamline accounting policies and procedures.
Act as a subject matter expert and lead representative, partnering with departments like Reinsurance, FP&A, and Product Operations to support company-wide initiatives.
Provide training and support to team members, fostering a culture of development and technical accounting proficiency.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles in a similar field or industry.
Solid understanding of GAAP.
Experience working with SAP or similar ERP applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong working knowledge of MS Excel using pivot tables and VLOOKUP. Power Query is desirable but not required.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively partner with various departments and stakeholders.
Added bonus if you have
MBA or an advanced degree.
An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent.
Public accounting experience.
Experience in insurance accounting and products.
A demonstrated aptitude and desire to learn and apply emerging technologies and new software tools to improve process efficiency.
