Community Operations Moderator

itD is seeking a full-time Community Operations Moderator to maintain a safe, responsive, and well-managed online community through thoughtful moderation, accurate documentation, and timely issue resolution. The ideal candidate will bring strong community moderation experience, fluent English communication skills, and a track record of applying policies consistently within fast-moving, global environments.

Location: On-site in Hyderabad, India. This role requires a staggered schedule beginning approximately three to four hours after the core moderation team’s start time. Candidates must be available for assigned holiday coverage in accordance with applicable law and company policy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor community conversations and evaluate content for compliance with established guidelines and policies.
• Apply sound judgment and contextual understanding when reviewing nuanced or sensitive interactions.
• Respond to routine moderation issues and investigate complex cases requiring advanced review.
• Escalate high-risk, ambiguous, or policy-sensitive matters through the appropriate channels.
• Document moderation decisions, incidents, and escalations accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with distributed team members to maintain consistent coverage, policy application, and service quality.
• Support a hybrid moderation model by handling both frontline review and advanced moderation responsibilities as needed.

Internal Responsibilities

• Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
• Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
• Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
• Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
• Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
• Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Professional experience in online community moderation, trust and safety, content review, or a closely related function.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong contextual understanding of online conversations, including tone, intent, and cultural nuance.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply moderation policies consistently.
• Experience documenting decisions and escalating complex or high-risk cases accurately.
• Ability to work independently while remaining closely aligned with a distributed team.
• Availability to work the required staggered schedule and provide assigned holiday coverage.
• Ability to work full time and remain dedicated to a single assigned account.
• Ability to work on-site in Hyderabad, India.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Experience performing both frontline and advanced moderation responsibilities.
• Experience supporting global online communities or geographically distributed teams.
• Familiarity with case-management, content-review, or reporting systems.
• Experience working in an environment with evolving moderation policies and escalation procedures.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required
