The project aims to strengthen social protection, child health, nutrition, and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services for children with disabilities and their caregivers. The consultant will provide technical leadership in designing and implementing capacity-building activities and ensuring quality project delivery through collaboration with multidisciplinary specialists and project teams.

The consultant will support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of interventions related to child health, nutrition, disability inclusion, and psychosocial well-being for children with disabilities and their families.

 Key Responsibilities

A. Technical Coordination and Capacity Building

• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary specialists, including psychiatrists, psychologists, pediatricians, rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, nutrition specialists, and other relevant experts, to design and implement integrated interventions for children with disabilities and their caregivers.
• Lead the planning, development, and facilitation of training workshops, seminars, and capacity-building activities for children with disabilities, their parents/guardians, community service providers, volunteers, and frontline workers.
• Coordinate with the multidisciplinary specialist’s team to develop comprehensive training packages and facilitator guides on play therapy, art therapy, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), child protection and disability-inclusive approaches, caregiver well-being, and psychosocial support.
• Ensure that all training materials are culturally appropriate, child-friendly, gender-sensitive, and disability-inclusive.

B. Development of nutrition/disability inclusion IEC Materials

• Organize and facilitate consultative meetings with nutrition specialists, project stakeholders, and the design team.
• Lead the development and review of Nutrition Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials.
• Ensure IEC materials incorporate key messages on child nutrition and feeding practices, maternal nutrition, fortification, nutrition for children with special needs, referral pathways, and available services.

C. Project Implementation Support

Work closely with the training team and project assistants to:

• Prepare training plans and schedules
• Coordinate logistics and participant engagement
• Support workshop implementation and documentation
• Ensure quality delivery of training activities. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project staff and volunteers throughout project implementation. Conduct accessibility audits of selected health facilities/mobile outreach teams
• Using an agreed assessment tool, assess physical, communication, and service accessibility in line with national and international accessibility standards.
• Identify key accessibility barriers and gaps through site observations and stakeholder consultations.
• Provide practical recommendations to improve accessibility and disability inclusion.

D. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) for disability inclusion-integrated activities

• Develop and strengthen monitoring frameworks and tools to measure project progress and outcomes.
• Monitor and supervise project implementation against agreed Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) indicators and targets.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits and provide technical recommendations for improving project quality and effectiveness.
• Review training outcomes, participant feedback, and project data to identify lessons learned and best practices.
• Prepare periodic progress reports, monitoring reports, and recommendations for adaptive programming.

Expected Deliverables

The consultant is expected to deliver the following outputs:

• Training needs assessment and training plan Accessibility Audit Report for Selected Health Facilities Training packages and facilitator manuals on disability-inclusive services for children with disabilities Training, workshop, and seminar reports, including participant evaluations and recommendations. Nutrition IEC materials developed and validated through consultation processes.
• Monitoring tools and MEAL tracking framework Periodic progress reports and final consultancy report, including achievements against project targets, lessons learned, and recommendations.

 Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Nutrition, Disability Studies, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in child protection, disability inclusion, MHPSS, social protection, and nutrition programming.
• Demonstrated experience in developing training curricula and facilitating workshops.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and humanitarian or development projects.
• Strong skills in project monitoring, reporting, and MEAL systems.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.

*The Consultant will be engaged for a total of 57 working days over a period of four (4) months. The Consultant will be paid a professional fee of USD 70 per working day, for a maximum total consultancy fee of USD 3,990.

Payment will be made in accordance with the agreed deliverables, level of effort, and applicable organizational policies and procedures.
