This role is suited to an analytical individual who can independently conduct market analysis, develop supply chain strategies, work with public and private sector stakeholders, and support implementation in-country. The ideal candidate may have experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, manufacturing, distribution, and/or the healthcare sector and subsequently transitioned into consulting, government, NGO, or global health work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze health product markets, supply chains, and procurement systems to identify opportunities to improve access, affordability, availability, and sustainability of essential health products.
  • Develop and support implementation of public and private sector supply chain strategies.
  • Assess and strengthen supply chain capacity, maturity, and performance across forecasting, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Support procurement strategy development, including approaches to strengthen institutional and operational procurement capacity.
  • Support supply planning and distribution strategies, including contingency and surge logistics planning where appropriate.
  • Translate technical and scientific information into practical business, market, procurement, and implementation recommendations.
  • Support the introduction, scale-up, and optimization of health products, ideally within maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and/or respiratory care, although specific product experience is not required.
  • Conduct field-level analysis and provide hands-on technical support to partners and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to technical deliverables, reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations for donors and health-sector partners.
  • Oversee project implementation across multiple geographies including the day-to-day responsibilities of project staff.
  • Collaborate with and manage, as needed, implementing partner activities, ensuring workplan and budget compliance.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as business, supply chain management, international development, public health, pharmaceutical sciences, health sciences, procurement, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years professional experience required.
  • Experience working within health product supply chains, including experience with a distributor, wholesaler, central medical store, national procurement agency, manufacturer, or similar organization.
  • Detailed understanding of public and private sector procurement processes, including regulatory compliance, export requirements, contracting, inventory and stock management, and delivery terms and conditions.
  • Proven quantitative and analytical abilities – spanning market intelligence, forecasting, and supply chain/product landscape assessments – used to inform product introduction, scale-up, and business or delivery strategy decisions.
  • Experience designing procurement strategies and/or contracting terms and conditions to facilitate improved product access.
  • Experience translating analysis into practical recommendations and supporting implementation in the global health sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Recent experience as a project and/or workstream lead in global health, managing competing priorities, partner scopes, and budget compliance.
  • English language fluency required.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience with maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) product markets including their procurement and distribution.
  • Experience with new business development, fundraising, grant writing, or proposal development.
  • Experience with health financing, national health insurance, reimbursement systems, or reimbursement schedules.
  • Established networks across the global health sector and experience convening public, private, and development-sector stakeholders.
  • French language proficiency.
