How you’ll make an impact
As a Student, IT, you'll gain hands-on experience working across a variety of technology disciplines. You will contribute to data and cloud-based solutions that support informed decision-making, and support technology services and operational initiatives that enable employees to work effectively. Along the way, you'll develop technical knowledge, communication skills and practical experience in a collaborative environment.
You'll be part of a team that supports and advances FCC's technology capabilities. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll contribute to projects and day-to-day activities that help deliver secure, reliable and innovative technology solutions across the organization.

What you'll do
Support the development, testing, maintenance and enhancement of technology solutions, applications and services that enable FCC employees and business operations
Assist with analyzing technical, operational and security requirements – and contribute to reliable, scalable and maintainable solutions
Help monitor, troubleshoot and resolve technology issues, security events and system performance concerns while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with data, reporting and cloud-based solutions by working with data tools, integrations, visualization platforms and analytics technologies
Prepare, configure, deploy and maintain technology equipment, software and technology assets used across the organization
Support technology lifecycle activities, including software updates, technology refreshes, inventory tracking, documentation and process improvements
Collaborate with developers, analysts, technology specialists, business partners and stakeholders to deliver effective technology solutions and services
Provide exceptional customer service by supporting end users, contributing to team projects, sharing knowledge and helping employees make the most of technology
What you’ll bring to the team
Required qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a diploma or bachelor's degree program in computer science, information technology, business or a related field
Strong interest in technology support, end-user services and learning new technical skills
Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems and common software applications
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems and identify practical solutions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in easy-to-understand language
Customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering excellent service
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
Interest in learning about cloud-based data environments, services and development practices
Preferred qualifications:
Previous experience providing customer service or technical support through work, school, volunteer or extracurricular activities
Interest in emerging technologies, continuous learning and improving how data solutions are built and supported
Familiarity with and interest in computer deployment, software installation or technology asset management practices
Exposure to data, reporting or visualization tools through school, work or personal projects
Exposure to audiovisual equipment, meeting room technology or collaboration tools
