À propos de ce poste Structural Analysis Engineer chez Valmet
Would you like to work with structural analysis that directly impacts the design and performance of industrial equipment?
Valmet is looking for a Structural Analysis Engineer to work with process machinery, pressure vessels and other industrial equipment.
The role combines analytical and code-based design calculations with finite element analysis in ANSYS. Working with design engineers, you will assess structural integrity and provide calculations and recommendations for product development and design verification. As part of the team, you will support various business units across Valmet with structural analysis expertise. If you enjoy combining analytical thinking with practical engineering impact, this could be the next step in your career.
This position can be based at any of our main Swedish sites: Gothenburg, Karlstad, or Sundsvall.
Your responsibilities
- Perform static, dynamic, fatigue and fracture mechanics analyses using ANSYS.
- Develop and validate FE models for our machines and other equipment, evaluate the results and document conclusions and recommendations.
- Work with design engineers to dimension and improve components and structures, considering strength, manufacturability, reliability and cost.
- Carry out analytical and code-based design calculations for pressure vessels and other structures in accordance with applicable standards. Check FE results using analytical methods and participate in design reviews.
- Support material selection, improve analysis methods and investigate structural problems and their causes.
- When needed, perform measurements and field studies on our machines and equipment to support R&D or failure analysis and resolve technical problems.
Expectations for you
- You hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
- You have at least three years of industrial experience in structural analysis, ideally involving heavy machinery, pulp and paper or energy applications. Experience with pressure vessels and code-based design calculations is an advantage.
- You are proficient in a major FEA platform, such as ANSYS, Abaqus or Nastran, and have a strong foundation in solid mechanics, materials science and structural dynamics. Experience with ANSYS is an advantage.
- You explain technical results clearly and work well with other engineers. Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo is an advantage.
- You have good spoken and written Swedish for day-to-day collaboration. You also have good spoken and written English for technical documentation and international contacts.
