Sprout Social is seeking an experienced Product Manager to own the strategy, delivery, and scaling of our Listening product. This role is responsible for central elements of Sprout’s overall strategy: positioning Listening as a competitive advantage targeting the growing social intelligence market and driving a step change in adoption by Sprouts wider base

This is an individual contributor role requiring deep product leadership skills that can drive a transformation of our Listening product into a best in class provider of decision-grade social insights for our target personas

Our Product team operates at the intersection of strategy, innovation, customer value, and go-to-market collaboration. We are focused on delivering unified, data-driven solutions across our multi-product portfolio. As part of the broader R&D organization, our team collaborates closely with Engineering, Product Design, and Go-to-Market (GTM) teams to create impactful experiences for customers while driving measurable business outcomes. This cross-functional partnership ensures that our products not only meet technical excellence but are also positioned effectively in the market, aligning with customer needs and business growth objectives. You won't just help set the vision for Listening, you'll also play a key role in shaping our overall approach to our wider intelligence strategy, execution, and outcomes. 

What you’ll do

  • Continuously strengthen a deep understanding of the important jobs and decisions are customers face, how the market services those needs to today, strategic trends and the biggest opportunities for our product strategy and roadmap
  • Own Listening overall product strategy & roadmap getting org wide buy-in to the most impactful product bets for investment with clear, trackable pay-off metrics. 
  • Partner closely with Engineering to deliver on product bet investments, balancing near-term customer/revenue commitments against longer-term strategic goals. Drive innovative solutions that balance value with risk, effort and strategic alignment
  • Collaborate deeply with the pricing and packaging team to optimize pricing strategies for Listening balancing costs, sales, retention, expansion and multi-product attachment goals. 
  • Act as connective tissue with Marketing, Sales and Customer Experience to ensure product direction and deliveries are centred in customer and market insights. Ensure GTM is delivered to maximise customers and prospects awareness and ability to try and adopt new releases
  • Establish and continuously improve the feedback signals that can drive future decisions - track customer pipeline, adoption and usage behaviours; competitive landscape, customer feedback, churn and closed lost drivers. Ensure regular direct customer engagement and provide support to internal customer escalations 
  • Develop strong relationships and effective communications with stakeholders across R&D and wider Sprout. Advocate for Listening’s growth opportunities, influencing and ensuring alignment with wider business goals and priorities. Proactively communicate progress, risks, challenges and pivots. 
  • You will be continuously challenging yourself and your peers to innovate - exploring new value creation opportunities - from unmet important customer needs to technology innovations and improvements in how we work as a product and wider team.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial and visionary product leader to help our company accelerate the growth of our Listening product. If you can align teams around solving hard problems together to achieve business impact, we'd love to talk with you!

  • 10+ years of PM experience in a B2B product-driven SaaS or Analytics environment.
  • Proven success leading product growth in a multi-product portfolio company.
  • Experience collaborating closely with product, design, engineering, and GTM leaders to deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Experience partnering with distributed engineering teams across different time zones
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and navigate complex technical concepts, constraints and trade-offs including communicating them to non-technical stakeholders
  • A bias toward customer and market insight: strong continuous discovery mindset to develop deep customer and user empathy about their needs and workflows, coupled with analytical and commercial acumen to identify usage, impact and pricing opportunities
  • Deep curiosity in rapidly changing landscapes affecting the social domain, software and the PM craft. The person must demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement (at a personal, team and product level) with an aptitude for hands-on learning and experimentation
  • Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and project management skills ensuring core leadership & roadmap priorities progress at a fast pace while also meeting other PM demands

How you’ll grow

Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:

  • Completing Sprout Social’s new hire training & onboarding program alongside other new Sprout team members. You’ll gain a broader understanding of our products and how your role fits into the organization.
  • Partner with the VP of Product to set initial priorities and align on expectations for your role.
  • Start building relationships with product managers, engineers, and designers in your product team as well as across the broader Product Management team.
  • Immerse yourself in understanding our customers, their jobs to be done and testing how our product helps them.  Get hands-on with Sprout’s products, experiencing them from the customer’s perspective.
  • Establishing a working cadence with your engineering partners in US and Ireland, including how you'll handle handoffs, async decisions, and the daily overlap window.

Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:

  • Partnering with senior product leaders to define key success metrics for your role and teams and how you will measure against them.
  • Participating in planning and roadmap processes and helping to shape the product roadmap for long-term success.
  • Lead day-to-day product execution for your team delivering value to customers. You’ll identify project goals, contribute to research and delivery, and organize releases.
  • Understand the engineering behind the Sprout product well enough that you can predict product trade-offs and ask your team productive questions.
  • Analyzing our qualitative and quantitative research to start forming hypotheses about how our product can better fit our customers’ lives.
  • Facilitating quarterly roadmap planning for your team and represent the plan to the rest of Sprout’s product teams, including executive leadership.
  • Collaborating with other product managers for cross-team problem solving and feature delivery. Develop a strong understanding of Sprout’s wider product portfolio and consider how customers’ workflow spans across them. 

Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:

  • Becoming the expert in Sprout's Listening product and confidently speaking to strategy, technical tradeoffs, and roadmap with internal and external stakeholders
  • Owning the Listening roadmap and delivering measurable results on key strategic initiatives.
  • Identify key opportunities to improve cross-team collaboration and alignment.
  • Standing up working cadences to build and deliver on product roadmap and outcomes in partnership with design, engineering, and GTM teams

Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:

  • Making strategic recommendations across product, pricing, gtm and ways of working to drive outsized business impact
  • Consistently meeting and exceeding established performance targets.
  • Obtaining (solicited and unsolicited) and acting upon peer, customer, and leadership feedback.
  • Be ready to take on new challenges to help your team and the broader PM organization -- including things we maybe haven’t even anticipated
  • Continue to evolve Sprout’s product culture, shaping the next generation of product managers.
  • Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change our ambition for Listening at Sprout in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet!

Our salary ranges reflect the expected earning potential for this role. Individual pay is based on geographic zone, relevant experience, and skills.

Our current hiring range for this role: CA$145,200 – CA$181,500 annually. Offers are made within this range, with opportunities to grow within the broader band based on performance and impact.

We share both our current hiring range and our broader geographic salary bands to provide transparency into our compensation philosophy. This ensures you understand not only your starting potential but also the long-term growth opportunities available as you progress in your role.

The full base pay range for this role is CA$145,200 – CA$217,800.

These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.
