Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled GCP Platform Support Engineer with expertise in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our cloud-based applications and services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for GCP-based applications and services, ensuring high availability and performance
Automate repetitive tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Google Deployment Manager)
Implement security best practices for cloud resources, including identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and network
Monitor and manage cloud resources, including virtual machines, containers, databases, and networking components
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar
Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Google Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, or Grafana to ensure system health and performance
Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis to identify root causes and implement preventive measures
SRE best practices, including service level objectives (SLOs), service level indicators (SLIs), and error budgets
Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications
Create and maintain documentation for system architecture, processes, and procedures
Required Qualifications
3+ years experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions
3+ years experience with SRE principles and practices, including monitoring, incident management, and performance optimization
3+ years experienc with CI/CD tools and practices, including experience with Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar
3+ years experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
3+ years experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Google Deployment Manager)
3+ years experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Google Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional DevOps Engineer certifications
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices
Experience with ETL/data pipeline and orchestration tools (e.g. Cloud Composer, Cloud Data Fusion, Dataflow and Dataproc)
Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., Cloud SQL, BigQuery) and data management practices
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or similar
1 year of professional work experience required for every year of college degree not completed, in addition to required years of experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
