Job Description

D&A is looking for role of Senior Mechanical Engineer who applies engineering principles to design, develop, test, and improve mechanical systems and components. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, interpreting technical specifications, and ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards.

Specific Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply technical drawings and CAD models.
• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using tools like Solidworks or an alternative CAD system - Creo.
• Analyze customer design proposals and specifications to assess feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
• Modify existing designs to improve performance, manufacturability, or cost-efficiency.
• Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and ensure smooth implementation.
• Support prototype development and testing, including documentation and reporting.
• Maintain quality control and reliability standards throughout the design lifecycle.

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

•  Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, alternatively Creo).
•  Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Fluent English speaking skills.
•  Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•  Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEC 60601 for medical devices).
•  Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•  Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Your Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (ideally mechatronics) or related field.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering for mid-level roles.
• Experience with full life cycle development.
• Experience in medical device design or regulated environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of FMEA, DFM/DFA, and risk management tools is advantageous.
• Availability to travel occasionally internationally.
• Eligible to work legally in Czech republic.
