Summary:
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will provide the analysis that underpins the strategic planning cycle for automotive vehicle development, build the models that frame strategic choices, and prepare the materials leadership uses to make decisions. The team you will join manages the planning, cost, resourcing, and reporting work that keeps a large engineering organization aligned on what it is building, when, and at what cost. This role suits someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex work and is comfortable partnering with senior leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Support the annual and quarterly strategic planning cycle for vehicle development by building planning models, defining objectives and KPIs with engineering directors, and tracking them throughout the year.
- Build business cases for cross-functional strategic initiatives, such as organizational changes, new site or capability launches, and cost-reduction programs, by sizing costs, benefits, and risks and tracking results after launch.
- Prepare executive-ready presentations, briefs, and pre-reads for leadership reviews, change boards, and company planning forums, then turn the discussion into documented decisions and action items.
- Build and maintain the dashboards and status reports used in vehicle development leadership meetings, and track follow-up on commitments.
- Build financial, headcount, and scenario models from organizational and program data to frame strategic options and recommendations, in partnership with Cost Engineering, Finance, and Resource Planning.
- Identify gaps in how plans are set, tracked, and reported, and design simple, repeatable processes and templates that the wider organization can adopt.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with at least 5 years of experience in corporate strategy, business or financial analysis, management consulting, or business operations.
- Experience building financial, headcount, or scenario models and translating results into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting planning and goal-setting processes, such as KPIs, annual operating plans, or quarterly business reviews.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build concise presentations and documents for executive audiences.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and work with large data sets in spreadsheets, SQL, or business intelligence tools.
