Software Developer Intern

Our team builds the tools and infrastructure that power testing across PlayStation software and hardware. Our mission is to enable teams across PlayStation to ship high quality experiences by providing reliable, scalable, and efficient test automation systems. We work at the intersection of software engineering, quality engineering, and platform infrastructure, developing automated test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and foundational tooling that support continuous testing across a wide range of environments. As part of PlayStation Engineering, the team collaborates closely with product teams, platform engineers, and QA professionals worldwide. We operate in a highly cross functional environment and continuously explore new approaches, including AI assisted testing, to improve test coverage, reliability, and developer productivity at scale.
You will:
- Work with a team of technically sophisticated engineers who make developer experience their first priority
- Experience a wide range of tools and technologies that you will use to both understand the problems of your fellow engineers and improve their productivity
- Work with team members across PlayStation to balance and accommodate competing desires
- Deliver practical, useful, and reliable tools, processes, and systems to PlayStation engineers
- Use both qualitative and quantitative metrics to determine priorities and measure effectiveness
You might work on:
- Changing how PlayStation engineers write, share, review, and merge code through education, automated tooling, new infrastructure, and new processes
- Building systems to ensure PlayStation developers’ builds are always green, and reacting quickly if something goes wrong
- Constructing better tooling and metrics so that we, and other developers we work with, understand the health of our systems
- Performance engineering to make our builds as fast and reliable as possible
You may be a fit for this role if you:
- Experience in Python, C++, or Javascript (C++, JS experience preferred)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Comfortable working in Linux and Windows-based development environments.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong debugging skills.
- Familiarity with Node, React Native/Web, Kubernetes, REST APIs
- Working knowledge Docker-based test environments.
- Are passionate about developer experience
- Have hands-on experience building tools that are used daily by other developers (e.g. CI, build support)
- Feel comfortable working with a wide variety of technologies and enjoy getting to know new systems
- Enjoy designing and building systems and processes that scale
- Are results driven and pragmatic
- Thrive in a collaborative and diverse environment involving different team members and domain experts
