Position Summary
The Ski & Ride School Product Sales Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily sales operations of the SRS lesson products, ensuring a seamless guest experience from initial booking through lesson completion. This position serves as the primary point of contact for lesson sales, reservations, product fulfillment, guest inquiries, and sales team operations.
Working primarily indoors in a guest-facing environment, the Product Sales Supervisor leads and supports the Sales Team, develops staffing schedules, monitors sales trends and lesson capacity, and coordinates closely with Ski and Ride School leadership to align instructor availability with lesson demand. This role focuses on transaction accuracy, guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, sales performance, and team development.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with multiple software systems, and passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences through outstanding service and operational excellence.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Sales Operations
- Oversee daily Ski and Ride School lesson sales and reservation transactions.
- Ensure all lesson reservations, modifications, transfers, and cancellations are processed accurately.
- Serve as the primary resource for guest inquiries regarding lesson products, schedules, programs, pricing, and availability.
- Monitor sales activity throughout the day and proactively address capacity constraints and staffing needs.
Staff Supervision
- Provide daily direction and support to Sales Leads and Sales Agents.
- Train and coach team members on sales procedures, guest service standards, products, promotions, and technology systems.
- Schedule daily staff for the Ski and Ride School Sales Team.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, guest-focused work environment.
Guest Experience
- Assist guests in selecting lesson products that best meet their goals and experience levels.
- Manage SRS sales communication channels including phone calls, email requests, and online inquiries.
- Resolve guest concerns and service recovery situations professionally and efficiently.
- Collaborate with Guest Services and other departments to provide accurate information and maintain a seamless guest experience.
Secondary Function
- Provide operational leadership in the absence of management.
- Support department projects, initiatives, and process improvements.
- Assist with training and communication between Ski and Ride School and other resort departments.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the SRS Business Manager and Administrative Supervisor to achieve operational goals, support staffing needs, and ensure a seamless guest and employee experience.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Scope
The primary focus of the Lessons Sales Supervisor is to ensure the efficient operation of Ski and Ride School sales and reservations transactions. Success in this role is shown through guest satisfaction, transaction accuracy, staffing effectiveness, team performance, and achievement of departmental sales objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Number of employees supervised: 5-8
- Positions Supervised: Sales Leads and Sales Agents
- Scheduling and assigning work: Ensure Sales coverage based on business demand.
- Training: Serve as the main point of contact to train and support Sales Agents and supervisors in need of transaction assistance.
- Disciplinary Actions: Yes, participate in performance management and corrective action processes in partnership with department leadership.
- Performance Reviews: Regular staff check-ins and formal evaluations as needed. Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Hiring/Termination: Assist manager with paperwork.
Interpersonal Contacts
Communicates with guests, instructors, supervisors, and managers on a daily basis. Communicates with other departments as needed, including but not limited to Guest Services, Rentals, Food and Beverage, and Lift Maintenance.
Specific Job Skills
- Technical: Experience with RTP Point of Sale, Workday, and Flaik is a plus, but not required. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and web-based software platforms. Ability to learn and adapt to multiple operational software systems.
- Leadership Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities. Experience leading teams in a fast-paced customer service environment. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and make operational decisions independently.
- Guest Services Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to professionally handle complex guest interactions and service recovery situations. Strong commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences.
Education/Related Experience
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum time in related position:
- Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Previous experience in sales, reservations, hospitality, retail operations, or guest services preferred.
- Experience with workforce scheduling and staff management preferred.
- Ski and snowboard industry experience beneficial but not required.
