Essential Responsibilities 

• Provide day-to-day HR support to site employees and leaders, responding to questions, coordinating follow-up, and helping resolve workplace concerns in a timely and professional manner

• Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including pre-employment requirements, site access, orientation, required documentation, and introductions to key project contacts

• Support employee and labour relations activities by maintaining accurate documentation, assisting with investigations and grievances, and partnering with Human Resources, Labour Relations, site leadership, and union representatives as required

• Help resolve payroll-related issues for site employees by reviewing concerns, coordinating with payroll and project leaders, and following up on outstanding approvals or employee changes

Qualifications 

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years of HR coordination or generalist experience; construction, industrial, or project-based workforce experience is an asset
• Experience supporting both unionized hourly and salaried employees preferred
• Knowledge of employee onboarding, workforce administration, employee relations, payroll coordination, and HR policies and procedures
• Experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS is an asset
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset
• Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently while collaborating across site and corporate teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Work Conditions 

• This is a site-based position located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

• Work will be performed in both office and active project-site environments, with regular walking and interaction across the site

• Extended hours may occasionally be required to support project schedules, workforce activities, or employee needs

• Ability to comply with all site access, safety, and project requirements is required

• Travel is not regularly required
