We are seeking a talented individual to join our Treaty Reinsurance (Guy Carpenter) team at Marsh Risk India, a Marsh business. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

Core Job Responsibilities

• Treaty Structuring & Placement: Design and place proportional (Quota Share/Surplus) and non-proportional (Excess of Loss/Stop Loss) treaties, covering entire portfolios rather than individual risks.
• Business Procurement & Relationship Management: Identify, approach, and maintain strong relationships with domestic (e.g., GIC Re) and international reinsurers and brokers.
• Technical Analysis & Risk Assessment: Analyze client underwriting portfolios, loss history, and risk retention philosophy to provide technical data for reinsurance pricing.
• Market Negotiation & Placement: Negotiate competitive treaty terms, including commission, rates, and coverage limits.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations on reinsurance
• Claims & Accounts Management: Assist in claims negotiation, settlement, and premium remittance to ensure proper cash flow between insurer and reinsurer

What you need to have:

• 12-15 years of proven experience in reinsurance broking or a related client-facing reinsurance role, in India
• Strong understanding of treaty and facultative placements, all lines of reinsurance
• Excellent working knowledge of Indian and international reinsurance markets.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work flexibly within a team.
• Education – Graduate / Post Graduate
• Commitment to professional development and maintaining the highest standards of conduct, integrity, and customer focus
