DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Software Product Manager at Bezos Academy, you will help more parents and caregivers create moments that matter by inventing solutions for early childhood education. You will join a founding team that is building solutions to challenges in early childhood education, combining AI technology, mobile apps, and curated learning materials to put a coach in the pocket of every parent.  You will drive the product strategy for family impact through our mobile app, leading a product development team from concept through launch and ongoing ownership. Your work will combine digital experiences for caregivers with analog activities for children. You’ll work from a basis of family insights to make hard trade-offs and prioritize what matters most: the children and families we serve.

You have a track record of building first-generation products and experiences that customers love. You are a hands-on, mission-driven product leader adept at collaborating with engineers and designers to solve customer problems. You work resourcefully across platforms and constraints, define problems clearly, resolve ambiguity, and iterate your way to success. You know what makes a software product exceptional and impart that standard in others. You thrive in fast-paced startup environments, motivated equally by great products and great impact, inspired by our mission to expand access to early childhood development programs for families of all kinds. 

LOCATION

• Seattle, WA
• This role is expected to work in-person with teammates in the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle at least two days a week.
• Relocation support is available for those willing to relocate to Seattle, WA

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, salaried position.
• The full salary range for this position in Seattle, WA, is $181,000 to $298,000 per year. The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for employees who have been in the role for multiple years and have demonstrated strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by qualifications and prior experience.
• This role includes 15 paid days of vacation, 4 days of paid personal time off, 9 paid days of sick (care) time, 9 paid holidays, 5 paid days off for an organization-wide winter break, and additional time off if required by applicable law. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Eight or more years of relevant experience including five years in software product management or product development of mobile apps, learning software, or ecommerce using Agile / Lean methods
• Prior experience building mobile apps, AI-driven experiences, or e-commerce businesses
• Track record of customer obsession, working with data and insights to lead roadmaps, requirements, and execution of first-generation consumer products
• History of successful collaboration with engineering, design, and marketing counterparts by understanding their roles and working collaboratively and transparently
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Relentless prioritization and decision-making skills that enable your team to work with urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Superior communication and analytical skills, including a strong ability to clarify and solve ambiguous problems with strategic direction
• Direct experience with commerce platforms such as Shopify or Woo Commerce, cloud services such as AWS or Google Cloud, and/or content management systems such as Payload or Craft
• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence people and teams at all levels and backgrounds
• Experience building accessible, responsive products that allow customers to seamlessly transition devices, activities, or modes
• Experience with a demographically and economically diverse consumer audience
