Summary:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development, evolution, maintenance, testing and release of multiple products spanning within software-defined platform, vehicle engineering, embedded firmware & software of micro-mobility projects. You will partner with skilled developers and collaborate with a cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery and execution of the digital strategy, key project milestones and deliverables to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, and maintain real-time embedded firmware for automotive ECUs and microcontrollers.
- Play key role in development of in-vehicle firmware, TCU & software ensuring seamless integration to vehicle components (both proprietary & vendor supplied) and Software Cloud.
- Take a major role in vehicle engineering firmware & software development, roadmap, issue triaging & production patches.
- Integrate automotive bus communication protocols including CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet (100BASE-T1), and FlexRay.
- Ensure software complies with functional safety standards (ISO 26262 / ASIL) and coding guidelines (MISRA C/C++, AUTOSAR).
- Lead from front, be an active collaborator and play major role in day-to-day execution, scrum ceremonies, x-functional & vendor collaboration.
- Play key role in development and evolution of telematics and asset management platform.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and other stakeholders to define project requirements, help execution & delivery.
- Help inform strategic decisions, updates, blockers & dependencies with stakeholders to keep visibility on need-to-know basis.
- Support development and execution of proof-of-concept projects to validate new technologies and concepts.
- Provide mentorship to the junior engineers, offshore team and foster a culture of innovation.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, software engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in firmware and software development in vehicle engineering with a focus on automotive, mobility, logistics or related industries.
- Experienced technologist with deep insight into newest tech stacks and trends, able to articulate and make technology selection decisions .
- 5+ years of experience and deep knowledge in following area of Embedded Firmware & Real-Time Controls, including but not limited to following:
- Design, code, test, and maintain real-time embedded firmware for automotive ECUs, TCUs and microcontrollers.
- Implementation of drivers, hardware abstraction layers (HAL), bootloaders, and board support packages (BSPs) on bare-metal and RTOS/FreeRTOS/Linux environments.
- Integration of automotive bus communication protocols including CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet (100BASE-T1), and FlexRay.
- Compliance/adherence to functional safety standards (ISO 26262 / ASIL) and coding guidelines (MISRA C/C++, AUTOSAR).
- 5+ years of experience and knowledge in following area of Connected Vehicle Platforms & Telematics, including but not limited to following:
- Architecture and implement of Telematics Control Unit (TCU) software to handle vehicle-to-cloud (V2X/V2C) data pipelines using LTE/5G, GPS/GNSS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
- Architecture and implement of secure, lightweight IoT messaging protocols (e.g., MQTT, gRPC, Protobuf, HTTP/REST) to stream real-time vehicle telemetry and edge diagnostics.
- Development of secure, reliable Over-The-Air (OTA) update systems with rollback capabilities for firmware across multiple vehicle buses.
- Implementation of edge analytics and data caching mechanisms to handle high-frequency sensor payloads while minimizing cellular bandwidth usage.
- 2+ years of experience and knowledge in area of Testing, Security & Integration, including but not limited to following:
- Implementation of cybersecurity safeguards, including Hardware Security Modules (HSM), Secure Boot, end-to-end encryption (TLS), and key management.
- Utilization of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test beds, oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, and Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer) to debug low-level hardware/software interactions.
- Collaboration across hardware, mechanical, cloud, and systems engineering teams to take features from concept through validation to production.
