Position Summary
Own the growth of the Internal Developer Portal (IDP) within Harness's Strategic Products Growth team — a product with real revenue and real users, historically sold via a sales-led motion but now shifting towards a product-led growth motion.. You're the person who owns this strategic transformation while shaping how the market thinks about developer portals in the age of AI and agentic workflows.
About The Role
- Carry a new-ARR target for the IDP product line (a mix of cross-sell and product-led revenue)
- Act as the product specialist the sales team pulls in: run the demo and the technical sale on inbound interest and on cross-sell into existing customers. Account teams keep the relationship and the commercials; the product depth is yours
- Deliver technically accurate, value-driven product demonstrations on demand, tailored to diverse customer contexts — a core expectation from day one
- Support prospect technical discovery including RFP product-related questions and technical Q&A
- Drive discovery through content and thought leadership, particularly around AI's impact on developer experience: is the traditional internal developer portal the right shape for an agentic world?
- Develop and publish an opinionated point of view
- Develop 3-5 net new marketing or content assets (technical or thought leadership focused) within your first 90 days, initially focused on a single capability area
- Build the go-to-market kit: content, collateral, business-value assessments, demo environments, and sales enablement
- Feed the most common deal-blocking gaps back to engineering
- Grow IDP toward a self-sustaining motion, whether product-led or sales-attached
What sits outside the role: self-serve billing and activation infrastructure, net-new logo prospecting, in-account adoption and renewals, and paid demand generation.
About You
- Demo-native and comfortable carrying a number; equally at home in a product spec and on a customer call
- A technical, sales-engineering-like background — technical enough to earn a customer's trust and win a room — paired with strong educator and communicator instincts
- Experience with developer experience and developer platforms, with demonstrated thought leadership on AI's impact on DevX; you hold opinionated views backed by experience
- A growth PM or DevRel background is a plus, though not strictly required
- Comfortable operating between senior and staff level, with travel flexibility to support field functions

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $185,000 and $235,000 annually. Salary is determined by a combination of factors including location, level, relevant experience, and skills. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
