About This Opportunity

Locally known Senior Manager, HR Client Partnering, you will join a well-established HR Business Partnering team and lead a number of HR professionals supporting one of the most vibrant, visible and community-driven parts of the UQ experience, UQ Sport.

Partnering closely with the CEO of UQ Sport among other key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's people strategy and culture. From workforce planning and organisational design to leadership development, talent management, employee relations and transformational initiatives, you will help create an environment where people can perform at their best and enjoy coming to work.

This is more than a traditional HR role. You'll be a trusted adviser, strategic partner and culture champion, working alongside leaders to build inclusive, high-performing and future-ready teams. Through meaningful relationships, evidence-based advice and innovative people solutions, you'll help drive positive outcomes for both employees and the broader UQ Sport community. Reporting to the Director, Client Partnering, you'll join a supportive HR team committed to collaboration, continuous improvement and delivering exceptional people experiences.

As part of this exciting opportunity, you'll regularly connect with teams across both the St Lucia and Gatton campuses, providing valuable face-to-face support and building strong relationships across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and align the capability and performance of HR Client Partnering professionals, ensuring advice and service delivery comply with relevant policies, legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Provide expert strategic advice on emerging and complex operational HR matters within a higher education environment.
• Develop, execute and evaluate HR strategy, workforce planning and talent initiatives that support business outcomes and enterprise priorities.
• Partner with HR specialist services on strategic workforce and talent acquisition plans, employee relations, organisational development, communication and change management strategies.
• Manage complex and high-profile employee relations matters, proactively anticipating and mitigating risks that may affect the client or service delivery.
• Review workforce data and analytics, providing meaningful insights and practical advice to executive leaders on people-related trends, risks and opportunities.

About You

• Postgraduate qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and professional development.

• Extensive experience providing strategic and operational HR leadership, including workforce planning, organisational design and people strategy.

• Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies, policies and workforce initiatives that align with organisational objectives.

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated success influencing and advising senior and executive leaders on complex people matters.

• Significant expertise in employee relations, employment legislation and risk management within complex organisational environments.

• Demonstrated leadership capability, including coaching and developing HR professionals, alongside the ability to use workforce data and insights to inform executive decision-making.
