Job Mission
As a Senior Engineer, Technical Program Management, you will lead end-to-end product lifecycle and change management activities across ASM's product portfolio. You will play a critical role in ensuring supply continuity, mitigating component obsolescence risks, and enabling new product and technology transitions through disciplined execution of engineering, manufacturing, and customer qualification activities.
This role serves as the cross-functional leader responsible for driving complex change initiatives across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Global Product Support, Product Management, and external suppliers. Success requires strong technical program management skills, business acumen, and the ability to drive alignment across organizations while balancing cost, quality, risk, and schedule.
What You Will Be Working On
- Own end-to-end component and technology obsolescence management for assigned products, from early risk identification through resolution and formal closure.
- Lead the operating cadence for obsolescence and change management, including prioritization, risk reviews, governance forums, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and suppliers to monitor lifecycle events such as EOL, PCN, and PDN notifications and drive timely mitigation strategies.
- Develop and manage obsolescence project plans, including scope, schedule, stakeholder alignment, risk management, decision tracking, and executive status reporting.
- Drive alternate part qualification and form-fit-function replacement strategies while evaluating cost, risk, supply continuity, and lead-time impacts.
- Coordinate and track internal qualification activities, including design updates, validation testing, reliability assessments, and documentation updates.
- Lead customer-facing change management and qualification activities, including sample builds, testing plans, data packages, compliance documentation, and approval timelines.
- Plan and execute manufacturing cut-ins and product transitions, including cutover planning, last-time-buy consumption strategies, inventory disposition, and BOM updates.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of PLM data, including part attributes, effectivity dates, engineering changes, and configuration control.
- Develop last-time-buy recommendations and demand alignment strategies in partnership with Planning and Procurement teams.
- Identify and proactively communicate risks, providing clear escalation paths and executive-level updates to protect business continuity.
- Maintain compliance and audit readiness for change control, product configuration, and quality system requirements.
- Partner with Product Management, Business Units, Engineering, and Operations to align lifecycle strategies with product roadmaps, customer requirements, serviceability goals, and business objectives.
- Lead complex cross-functional programs involving product changes, qualification activities, supply chain risk mitigation, and manufacturing readiness.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Sustaining Engineering, Operations Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading complex cross-functional programs in semiconductor capital equipment, high-tech manufacturing, electronics, industrial equipment, or similar environments.
- Strong expertise in component obsolescence management, including EOL, PCN/PDN processes, qualification planning, last-time-buy strategies, and supply continuity management.
- Experience leading engineering change processes, including ECRs, ECOs, ECNs, configuration management, and BOM governance.
- Demonstrated program and project management skills, including planning, risk management, stakeholder alignment, escalation management, and executive communication.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product structures, supplier management, and product introduction/change control methodologies.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive decisions without direct authority.
What Sets You Apart
- Experience within the semiconductor equipment industry.
- Experience managing customer-facing qualification and change control processes.
- Knowledge of PLM and ERP systems such as Agile, Windchill, Teamcenter, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting advanced packaging, wafer processing, vacuum systems, or semiconductor manufacturing technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical, operational, and commercial priorities to achieve business objectives.
- Experience assessing and mitigating supply chain risk through multi-sourcing strategies, criticality assessments, and lifecycle planning.
Travel: Up to 10-15% as needed to support suppliers, manufacturing sites, and customer qualification activities.
